Is it the hid lamp or ballast.

    Evening all.

I've got a Halycon HiD focus which won't fire. How can I test if there is a problem with the lamp itself or the ballast? (I've already tested the wiring, switch and battery)

If it's going to be a costly repair, does anyone have any tips on converting to l.e.d?

    DD

Is it a focus or an HID? Focus is an led light.

If it's an HID, try a buddy's bulb.

If it's a 21w HID, it's unlikely that it's the bulb. They're pretty robust with a long service life in my experience.

I'm fairly sure the 10w lights were unregulated. My bet would be bulb problem.

10W HID does have a ballast, its very rare for those to fail - it order of likelihood of failure, its the cable first, then battery, then bulb and lastly ballast. Unfortunately neither Halcyon nor the European distributor have any parts for 10W lights as welsh Allen stopped supporting them years ago... drop me a PM as there might but other options depending on exactly what light you have and condition of battery.

If anyone is in need for a 10W HID bulb just drop me a message.
I can provide 3 different kinds of bulbs (located in Germany):

    1. 10W HID (Welch Allyn) - older version for Halcyon until 2002
    (ignore wrong number on wrapping)

    2. 10W HID (Welch Allyn) - newer version for Halcyon
    (ignore wrong number on wrapping)

    3. 10W bulb for fixed focus
