Thread: Do I need a better planner?

Do I need a better planner?

I have Multideco on my phone which seems pretty limited and IDeco pro on my iPad, But not sure either of these are right for me as I don't seem to be able to manipulate all the info. I would like a better player on my iPad if available or Mac if not. I'm just starting out,
    suggestions would be helpful.

I've used both for OC tech, maybe I don't know how to use them well enough for CCR, I will investigate that possibility as well.

What would you need more than it offers?

The windows version of MultiDeco has huge amounts more to offer over the mobile version.

    A878bob,
I've not used the mac version of MultiDeco, but I can say the Windows desktop version is well worth the extra cost over the mobile version. There are a bunch more options on the desktop version. For example you can set the ascent / descent rates for specific depths, useful if you are, say, diving using a shore entry where you might descent slowly along the bottom at 1m per minute until 15m depth where the bottom drops off and you then descend at 15m per minute down to 40m. And similar idea when ascending doing your deco. First up a wall and then finishing off slowly meandering up a gradual slope.

So I guess to answer your question, you don't need a better planner.
The mobile version served me for a few years. Its pretty good really.
If you want more, just get the full version. You'll find (at least I can vouch for the PC version) there are more settings than you can shake a stick at.
The only other thing I can say is see if you can find someone with the mac version already and make sure it is what you want.

Well actialy I use all multideco versions from begining .... helped with testing them in developement stages. Yes there are some more functionalities in Mac or Pc versions. But need to say for average tec diver mobile version fulfils requirements quite well.
When talking about rates yes it is true you have only one descend rate and three ascend rates ...so only limited in planning descent but there is not that big difference. Ascent is covered quite well.
When looking between Mac and PC versions....there is no difference...they are the same...offer same functionality. This is true between mobile versions or between desktop versions.
