I am lucky, most of my dives are at reef walls so spend my deco time enjoying on sea views and sealife. Besides my scooter does 5+ hours burntime so can have big fun all the time.

    Under water Ipod

I like pod casts like Friday Night Live sort of thing. For repeat long deco Audio books are good. After a week In ireland i sent and extra 10mins on the last dive just to listen to the end of the book :D

What kind of device do you use for the audio? Just a normal iPod? What kind of headphones?

I have had a few of these. If you do find one they are great but have a habit of flooding randomly. Also the newer iTouches are less compatible with the housing, which means you have to choose video or audio before the dive - you can't switch between them underwater. Also, if the battery on the iTouch gets low you get a pop-up on the screen which you cannot clear.

If you are lucky enough to find one take great care of the headphone cables which is where most of the problems occur. I took to wrapping self-amalgamating tape around all the cable glands to act as extra strain reliefs.

Nothing beats watching a movie to pass the time on deco.

This is me finishing up deco at 3m in Weeki Wachee at about 3am. The support divers were convinced I was watching porn. I think it was 'My Cousin Vinny'.

No, they sell special waterproofed ipods with headphones. Look at Amazon.com

Yes I have had two and the new one flooded which is sad. My old one which I have had for several years still works fine.

I usualy clip them off at 21m and have never risked the 90m rateing

My origional headphones failed and I repaired them myself. Its internal wire breakages that cause the issue. Not insurmountable but a pain.

Flooding is a problem as its expensive to replace an IPOD. fortunatly I was useing an old one at the time and not the 160G classic in the pic which costs a bloody fortune even S/H

The best way is a movie.

The IDive was awesome till it flooded.

Another effective way is the paradigm shift: a 5 hour dive is nothing compared to a 12 hour.

An AudioFlood is a solid choice but is a bit jinky.

If its not 100 minutes or more at 10 feet then it didnt count....

Lastly, I enjoy taking and hammering out work notes/ideas on some waterproof pages.

Andy--While I know in my heart it was My Cousin Vinny I hoped it was some serious porn!

I believe they are called audioflood. There iPod shuffles supposedly waterproof to 200 feet I talked to the manufacture a couple of months back. The headphones are only good to like 30.
