DO you think a dive shop would accept an image of a C-card on a cell phone?

I am thinking I will scan my C-cards and store a copy of them on my cell phone.

so if by chance i forget to have my C-card on me I can show the dive shop the image on my phone.

do you think they will accept this or will it be hit or miss like I think it will?

I do that. So far the only ones that weren't to pleased about it accepted it if I show them my drivers license. Or one used it to go look me up on their database.
I understand their reasoning because anyone could forge certs. People could forge cards as well so I guess it is up to them but its nice to not have to carry physical cards.

The only card I have ever had to show in a dive shop was a credit card and I'm pretty sure a cell phone image won't cut it.

The main one for me is insurance. The shop can tell by looking at you if you are capable of diving or not, so honestly don't care about C-Cards, the shops I get fills at don't want Trimix cards they want cold hard cash.

Insurance, however. I would have a copy of your diving related Policy Number and Expiry date as many shop will either not let you dive without it or try and sell you their instant insurance cover.

    Regards

    Great idea.

Although, come to think of it, leaving your iPhone with a photo of your cave card on the dash probably isn't ideal. ;)

I think it's a great idea to try. A couple of years ago I stated leaving a c card in my car since I seemed to forget it when I would go to a quarry or something like that. I look at it this way. I certainly can't hurt to have them on my phone.

I think this would be a great APP from IANTD or TDI or even PADI! Hey Monkey, why don't u develop it and see if you can sell it to the organizations.
