I've used it for the last few years with no issues at all. I know that it is officially medical grade sorb, but it works great. I posted a thread about it a few years ago with a lot of good input about it from members. Take a look at my old posts and see if it's still there.

On a side note, I never have seen the color change very much. A few light pink granules is all I ever get.

After a dive down to 125 meter / 130 min a few more granules have change their color. The WOB was low at the complete dive.

Why am I not surprised? (bigger granules) Ideally we'll all dive the lower WOB sorb (either Sphera or coarser grade sofno or ....(fill in your choice)) and then switch to our plentyfull supply of open circuit gas once the *reliable* CO2 alarm warns us.
The only thing still missing is the *reliable* part here I'm afraid .

For now it is slightly more complex. I'm afraid an awfull lot of research would need to be done to find out what the differences are in a real-life situation. (Meaning a *normal* breathing rate and a *normal* temperature with a *normal* dive plan). It is too easy to claim things based on over-simplified tests (I'm not saying you are I'm just referring to the tons of posts in similar topics). The lower WOB would most definately be an advantage during normal diving but when the sh1t hits the fan the finer grade softno (with a higher surface area per unit of weight) is less likely to break through through over-breathing.

Ok, my opinion too, but i have notice no different between sofnolime 797 ( small granular) and the "bigger" spherasorb, but only my feeling. Interesting where a dive when the sh1t hits the fan....

You can buy it through local medical suppliers. Check the Intersurgical website.

Which Spherasorb are people using - the white turns to violet or the pink turns to white?
