considerations in selecting a rebreather instructor, and the direction that rebreather training and standards are evolving to

    Dave ******, Trawler Explorer
configuration tips and techniques, focussing on his gas distribution system logic and assembly, and gas selection

Jeff Godfrey, UConn Dive Safety Program
the role of rebreathers in scientific diving from past to present, current scientific exploration programs using ccrs, and current obstacles in adopting rebreathers for institutional dive programs

    Richard Cooper, Ocean Technology Foundation
an overview of his work in various life in the sea programs from Sealab to present, including an overview of his current work in developing Seabase in Belize, and the role of advanced diving technologies in the future of ocean exploration

    Mark Munro, PPO2.com
an overview of his logic in developing electronbic displays for rebreathers, including a look at his newest display board, and its incorporation in a new rebreather, the HEAT.

actual titles and synopses of their presentations will be posted as they come my way. We'll also have a moderated Q&A session with these speakers on a number of pre-selected topics. I am working on that list now.

Ideas are welcome on topics that you would like to see discussed...

Re: 2010 Northeast Rebreather Workshop at URI

formal presentation overviews are trickling in, and I'll post a formal agenda once it comes together.

attendence is growing daily, and it looks like there will be a very diverse group in house - technical divers, scientific divers, public safety folks, commercial divers, technologists, engineers, and it goes on. Connecticut is by far the most represented state. Where's all the Mass folks?

thanks again to all who registered early.

    Mike,

Do you have any suggestions or recommendations for a hotel/motel in the area for the Friday before the seminar?

There is a Holiday Inn in South Kingston. This is probably the closest. Anything in the towns of South Kingston or Narragansett are very close and should be reasonably priced during the winter months.

Re: 2010 Northeast Rebreather Workshop at URI

15 days left for the pre-registration window. Thanks to everyone who has registered thus far.

Looks like we have about 30 people confirmed to attend plus about 10 with speakers and sponsors. Will be a great event.

There are still exhibition spaces available for any companies interested in displaying products or advertising services. Please contact me for details on sponsoring the event.

    Cheers,
    ML
