Monkey Diver 2009 Cay Sal Bank Trip Pics

Spent all last week aboard the Nekton Pilot with the Monkey Diver group, and had an amazing time! We did some great diving, and had a blast between dives!!

I took MUCHO pictures, but I haven't had time to get through all of them yet. However, here's a few of my underwater pics:

Both myself and several others have lots more pics, including many great topside pics, so I suspect those will be posted soon!

    Enjoy!

Great stuff, everyone. I'll definitely have to try to make next year's trip. Looks like you guys had a blast.

Re: Monkey Diver 2009 Cay Sal Bank Trip Pics

It would be hard to sum the trip up. It was quite different from last year but by no mean any less good. We missed some of our friends (Cogan...) and gained quite a few.

Before a full trip report, in pictures, quickly, here is how I saw it. All photos can be found in my trip photo album.

We brought a lot of gear:

We had some great discussions, mostly about diving:

    We made new friends:

Monkey was stressed but he still uploaded photos every day:

We turned on our O2 and pre-breathed our units:

We had no Kiss or rEvo failures. Some Inspiration/Evolution issues, few Meg problems and three O2ptima boo-boos. But Jeff kept smiling (cause he had fun on his scooter):

Some computers failed and showed ridiculous depth that clearly weren't reached:

It seems the Dive Rite Nitek Duo and the VR3 failed too. They probably share the same faulty depth sensor:

And Bobby thought it was funny:

That was our trip. Those were our dives, successes and failures. As Gary best puts it: Bouya!

If you missed the trip, here's a few more topside pics to give you a better picture of what you missed:

Did anyone really think Don would go even one day without his Mountain Dew!

There were a few Kiss divers onboard:

There were even a few more Meg divers onboard:

There were even a more yellow box divers onboard:

But as anyone who comes down to South Florida to dive quickly learns, this is always Optimas territory!

Did anyone really think Capt. Gary wouldn't modify his Monkey Diver Trip Shirt to his specifications!

There was only one thing more popular than Optima rebreathers on this trip, and that was the TY-Ku Sake!

Let's not forget the honorable mention for our gracious hosts, the lovely Nikki and the 800 Pound Gorilla himself!

    Richie,

It was definitely a great trip, and just like last year, the hurricanes kept away and the weather cooperated.

Perhaps we can convince you to join us next year???
