But it seems some people dont think it is safe and claim to have had problems with 3.6vBill Dont make sense to me why they had problems but their opinion and experience counts too. rgds |

But it seems some people dont think it is safe and claim to have had problems with 3.6v I believe it's more likely related to *when* and somewhat how, they changed the battery, ot if it died while the computer was still doing tasks. Dont make sense to me why they had problems but their opinion and experience counts too. rgds If it dies on or within 24 hours of a dive, it's still making computations. Even though you turn it off or into sleep mode after a dive, it's still figuring TTF and SI, and offgassing. Battery failure during that period probably screws up everything untill a complete cycle of dive and clear are completed. Alkaline batteries are a lot like lead acid. They deliver a decent voltage threshold for quite q while, and then display a very obvious decline. The lights get slowly but consistantly dimmer, so to speak, before there's nothing. Primary lithium cells are much more like NiMH. Extremely stable output voltage down to about 85%, and then it's good night Irene in a blink. You have to keep in mind the different behaviours of the different chemisties, and manage battery maintainance/replacement accordingly. Darlene |

| Custom Title Allowed! ![]() Current Rebreather/s: | Hello all. Attached you can see both discharge rates for Energiser Alkaline and Lithium. You can see that the Lithium one has a more stable voltage and this is why is more recommended to electronic equipment but will give you little warning at the end of it's life! Pics are Alkaline First
