| Pierre, With Barrie's set-up (not familiar), does the sensor fit in a Y-piece above the hat, or on a chest-piece fitting (a la Bob Howell)? Rob

| Quote: (Originally Posted by Pierre Farrugia) is the right tag.Pierre, That's not the right tag. There are actually THREE ways to mount the fourth sensor, and there may be more, actually. I have the old Bob Howell designed chest piece. the sensor sits in a little compartment alongside the hose on the right side where the upper hose fits into the right chest fitting. Pro's: very easy to connect and use Con's: calibration is more difficult and response time is slower There is the Y-shaped fitting that sits on top of the hat. I don't know who makes that one now. Pro's: calibration is easier and response time is faster Con's: it won't fit easily in some of the new aftermarket boxes AFAIK Finally, there is the redesigned hat (such as the one by Juergensen) where the fourth sensor goes inside the hat. In all cases, you will find that the problem of wiring will be eased by the fact that the VR-3 can flip or invert its presentation, thus allowing you to wear your computer on the left or right wrist. You can coil the extra cable up inside your box, or have it shortened. Rob

| Pierre, I've seen it done both ways. The actual extension of the hose, when the Y piece is fitted is not all that great. You can use it without cutting the hose. Knowing how we all are, you will want to shorten it later to make it "perfect". Rob

| Hi M8 I mount my VR3 on the YBOD Master hand set. That way when you check the VR3 you check the hand set and vice versa. This also has the advantage that you dont try and de kit whilst still conected to the unit via the cable. Very embarising and posably expensive. Cable is just wraped arround the cable for the hand set. ATB Mark Chase ![]() ![]() ![]()

| Pierre, I have used the same y-piece for a little while now. I have it routed like this: 1) The cable comes out from YBOD case from divers right hand side holes just beside rigt side handset. The excess length I leave inside the case. I have marked the correct length to the cable with electrical tape (Not a permanent solution, I hope) 2) Then it goes under the right hand side breathing hose. 3)Then it goes under the weight pocket on top of YBOD. It then is in between divers neck and the weight pocket. 3) Then it goes under the rleft hand side breathing hose. 4) Under the arm pit and to the wrist on the inside of the arm. Hope this clarifies my config. JH Finland |
