| New Member Current Rebreather/s: | VR3 Strap Broken! Hi All, My VR3 strap has finally given out and I'm looking to replace it. I'm keen to make it a little bit wider so it's about 50mm or double the current strap. Any ideas what the material is?? Cheers, Jason |

I drilled holes in the PVC to use plastic wire ties in fixing the computer to the PVC. Much more reliable and comfortable than the strap. I know 2 people who have lost VR3's getting on diveboats because of the stock strap. Peter Last edited by Peter Piemonte : 12th December 2006 at 14:12. Reason: Spelling |

The material for the elastic band can be found at Specialized Textile Outfitters www.ahh.biz 1-866-458-2559 under woven elastic webbing. Not exactly what delta p uses but does work w/ the fastex buckles.

Peter Or you could simply use the stock strap and add a closed-loop bungie loop around the side of the computer where there is a pin slot open. This adds minimum hardware, very comfortable and secure. And cheap. Takes 2 mins to do... Just slip your hand thru the loop and put the strap on as normal. If the straps come apart, the loop will hold the computer to your wrist.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Or you could simply use the stock strap and add a closed-loop bungie loop around the side of the computer where there is a pin slot open. This is what I use. Just a bit of thick bungy tie wrapped to the small loop slot on the side. This adds minimum hardware, very comfortable and secure. And cheap. Takes 2 mins to do... Just slip your hand thru the loop and put the strap on as normal. If the straps come apart, the loop will hold the computer to your wrist. I bought new VR3 Starps from Barry Law for my KISS displays. Quite cheep really. |
