Need Degree in VR3....Help Old GUYS!

What is needed to download a VR3 to PC? Manual says computer has ifra red communication. Is there a cable or software needed? How does ifra red comm work? What does profile setting do? showes four tanks? different gas groupings? why does the d profile no longer come up? Fully unlocked running verision 1.84 ABR (abridged?) 2 pin connector. Does this mean updated? Came with Inspiration formerly owned by Leon ( I think I have seen his name around?) Memory shows some 400ft plus dives. (Wow!) VR3 comes on and shows a name Bob Wilson and a number maybe SSN# or VR3# ? Are these # eraseable? Can you erase or change the these pre programed gasses in profile? Can I get a manual or instructions to go with this version? Is this version known to have problems in the algorithm? I was told this Inspiration was about a year and a half old with approx 60 hrs. Any way to check this out with AP by serial no? Where is the serial no located on YBOD? Where is the best place to order O2 sensors? Can AP tel me last time this unit was serviced? Do I need the unlock codes even though unit is already unlocked? That is enough for now, I know I will have more questions later , Thanks in advance for your help. Now you can impress me with your knowlege......I know.......I'm not worthy ........but just this once........

Re: Need Degree in VR3....Help Old GUYS!

I would suggest that you start of by reading the manual that you can get here.

VR3 Dive computer

I have version 5.03aC( last upgrade +/- 1 year ago), so it sounds like yours is an ooooooold version.

To change the name on the computer, you need a PIN number, you would have to contact the original owner or Delta-P.

You need it to be set for PC down load and you need a cable and infer read pick up which is supplied with the down load software.

Go on to menue go to transfer to PC and then put the infa red link against the pick up and it should (ocasionaly) work

The 4 tank's show you have four gasses switched on. One asumes one back gas and three deco gas. It will calculate the deco mbassed on ALL gas you have set to the ON position.

You can program diferent gas settings on profiles A B etc and switch between them but dont bother its not worth the hassel.

Being "two pin" I asume this is the VR3?

Thats a very old software version and I would get it upgrades ASAP. I had 2.1CXI and no problems with that. Some of the pre version 2.0 has glitches but I know two people with 1.84 and they seemed OK

Yes but you need the set up codes and a lot of patience

Yes to anything you like

Most of the functions are the same on the latest versions. So the latest manual will help a lot but you need to contact DeltaP

If its a classic its on the head its very faint and sort of dot matrex but its there.

I cant answer that question for your location you need a local CCR diver. AP can tell you everything about the unit including service history as long as it was serviced with them

If it has unlock codes then you need them. AP should have them. The classic dosent have unlock codes so i am guessing its a Vision.

Re: Need Degree in VR3....Help Old GUYS!

By unlock codes I meant for the VR3, sorry.Just wondering if i need these codes for anything and if 1.84 verision has any quirks. The name in the VR3 display when turned on is BOB WILSON. Anyone know him? The Name on Ispo back cover on the inside says LEON. Could this be the infamous Leon that lurks here at Rebreather World? Haven't had alot of time to play with unit yet but complete tear down build up is imminent. Are the displays for the Inspiration sealed from the back on the inside of the housing? One of the displays does not quite come all the way together on the side and I am afraid it will leak and kill electronics if that is where the seal is made. If the handset is removed from housing is it still sealed or is the oring or seal for this right there on the side of outermost housing where front and back meet? Thanks you guys are great!

The black covers on the handsets come off, this should have been the first thing you checked before buying.

Remove the covers by removing the four screws, two long and two short, and check the handsets for cracks, have a good look around the glands, they may be very faint if there are any.

Have you done a course yet, all of this should have or will be covered on it.

The only use you would have of these codes now would be to put your name in place of the former owner's.

I don't believe the version you have is upgradable anymore than it is now so the codes would not be of any use. Anyways, once upgraded, the changes won't be forgotten by the VR-3 even in case of total battery depletion.

Hi Marc,

Long time no see :-) (you might remember nme from Mex)

Indeed ... upgrade to the latest software gets you a new case and costs almost as much as a new unit. Been there done that as I needed a new case anyways. You codes will however be replaced if you can prove you had them to start with. So if all is unlocked and you get an upgrade you also get replacement pins to get it working again.

Cheers,
Paul

I see most ?'s have been thoroughly answered. On the cells, I'd get them from Oxycheq. Saves about $30.00/each. Be sure and remove the O-rings.
