![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: Vr3 I've been diving for 9 months now with the monochrome VR3, and with the Backlight on it is perfect. Now here is my disclaimer: I have not actually seen a Colour display VR3, so my next comment is just my opinion, but I have always felt that colour displays are a bit gimmicky I've dived both & I find the colour screen much better in northern european waters (i.e. often dark/murky) . You do need to have the backlight on to get best results, so I'd say Lithium batteries are a must. (backlight light not effected by loss of light from red end with depth, like a torch)I didn't find it such an advantage when diving in the red sea, in blue water diving I suspect a backlight monochrome screen may be better/as good. How can you form an objective opinion on something physical that you haven't seen (i.e. first-hand knowledge) ? ![]() Seriously, try to find someone with one and see it u/w (especially deep and dark). Then tell us that you still have the same opnion... ![]() IMHO (as someone who used to own one), the color VR-3 has the best screen of all devices I have used u/w, and I wish they all have the same.

![]() | Re: Vr3 I have to agree the colour screne is well worth having but the big letters are a waste of money. (I don't) find it any easier to read them. A Sea Vision mask is cheaper and lets me read all the information. |

Some of my other buddies are envious of hte color and some think of it as a gimmick. I have done deep Tech and Cave Diving with mine.

![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: Vr3 Hi, I also vote for the VR3 with colour display. During the wintertime I do a lot of night dives in our Swiss lakes. The visibility of the VR3 screen is just excellent. Even with a very bad visibility it is easy to read the figures on the screen. If somebody is looking for a VR3 getting a colour screen is far away the best available option. With a 3.6 V Lithium battery it will run around 25 – 35 dive hours (backlight always on). Kind regards DINspiration |

The reason I went this way is that the computer of my Vision is still monochrome and Buhlmann. I'm still looking for 4th cell for this, but haven't decided yet what to do. Beanie's 4th cell adaptor sounds great.

![]() | Re: Vr3 OK All, I'm not one to go down with my ignorances intact, from the amount of posts about the colour version I think that it would make sense to check it out and see the differences for myself. So, anybody here dive in the "warm" waters of Melbourne with a colour VR3? If so give me a yell when you are next on a Scuttlebut trip, I'll book on and have a bit of a gander (if that's OK ).(Now I wish the colour version had been somewhat cheaper!) Cheers, Michael |

Wish I could afford it.Also, big text a waste of space, as numbers are longer but not really that much clearer. Added to which, you lose the tts. Aki, I'd be interested to hear why you are looking for a fourth cell for the VR3 to use alongside your vision. I'm OC but my vision is on order, so no doubt these sort of choices await me. Presumably it gives you added redundancy. |

Of course the HUD gives a bit redundancy, but thought that at some point I'd like to have bit more. So far I'm going on without the 4th cell.
