vr3 vs explorer

Hello,

Is it possible use an hs explorer and a vr3 at the same time so that they roughly offer the same CCR deco ?

In our group we all have an hs explorer but we would like to get vr3 as bail out computers,

regards

"Roughly" is the key word.
  • VR-3 uses Buhlmann with Pyle-style deep stops.
  • Explorer uses either Buhlmann or RGBM.
So depending on which algorithm used and which settings, the deco profiles might not be that similar.

We have tried matching pre-VPM VR3 and Explorers on the same dive but this does not work. The profiles never seem to match no matter what settings you use.

However, [if you are talking about OC] the NiTek He can be used since it does not cater for deep stops. The only difference is that it will most likely keep you longer at the shallow stops. NiTek He prices are very low at the moment and are likely to hit rock bottom soon. DiveRite has run out of stock so anything you find is buffer left in the channel. It is being phased out for a new DiveRite computer coming out. I am curious to see what they come up with.

The NiTek He was very reliable and durable, made by Seiko but was loaded with a crap implementation of the algorithm and came with a small display.
