Well Done Delta P

I guess many of us are quick to shout loud and long when we receive poor service or poor quality goods. How many of us spread the woard when we get what might be considered 'outstanding service'. I believe the test of a business's true quality is when somthing goes wrong and their seeing their overall attitude to putting it right.
My VR2 went wacko on a recent dive (not a pleasant experience) and was duly packed off to Delta P. This computer was NOT in warrenty. It was sent back to me with a new screen, depth transducer, re-touched power connections and new O rings. All for the price of a health check with their compliments. This was also turned around in 8 days.
Great service, they certainly get my vote! Thanks Delta P

Re: Well Done Delta P

I've had no issues with my VR3's. I guess that speaks volumes.

My VR3 died on me at 19m going down the line to a wreck to 42m. The screen went black then it swiched off and refused to start. At the surface I found a blue o-ring sticking out the connecting port. I opened the battery port and water came out. As luck would have it, its not in warranty so I'v sent it to Delta P. Hope this is another satisfied customer, Let u know what happens

Thumbs down Re: Well Done Delta P not

Well delta p???

I have had a problem with my 4th cell it was working intermittently on one dive on a 60m wreck it turned off again with me losing complete confidence in the 4th cell
and I did get out of the water with my backup tables working {sorry I followed my buddy}

Once home I packaged the 4th cell up and sent it off.
I was going to Norway in 12 days time and put this and all the problems I had experienced with it in a little note .
The date of the trip was looming a friend said if I didn’t get it back in time I could use his.

So yes I used his as I had heard nothing {I had put I was going on an expedition to Norway and the date I was going} obviously putting that made no difference to
Delta p

When I got back after a lovely weeks diving I got a message on my phone asking to ring delta p back so I did.

What a shock I got to be told my 4th cell was no good and beyond economical
repair??
So while I was talking to the monkey{who had no idea what, how and why you would use a 4th cell or was he just playing dumb! } on the phone I asked to speak to ‘’technical department’’ about my 4th cell?
He asked why did I want to speak to technical
The monkey put me on hold!!
Then he came back and told me they were all busy fixing products {is this a bad omen ?} so I asked the monkey what the problem with the 4th cell was?
The monkey told me it was working but intermittently?? So working intermittently is working would he trust it on a dive??
No he said and went on to say I could purchase a new 4th cell off them over the phone
so I asked why was it working intermittently.
He said he didn’t know.
I said if it’s the molinex connector couldn’t they just change it.
No he said.
I said it only costs a few pence for a new one? Why do I need to spend £££ on a new one?
He said it’s beyond economical repair and over 3years old {as if saying the 4th cell only has a life of 3 years anyway}
And they he would get someone from technical department to em@il me with what was wrong with it and what they could do with it?

All the em@il had in it was
Your 4th cell is beyond economical repair
Your 4th cell is 3years old and in need of replacement

Then even more weeks went past in total 3 months + then I received it back from delta p just the same as it went to them what a waste of time.

How many of you have been tolled the 4th cell only has a 3 year life I’ve heard of 2 other people being tolled the same as me.

Think its time to look at the 4th cell holder from someone else anyone know of any good ones and costs?

I think that when you say a company provides "outstanding service" that it needs to be consistent over a long period of time and be true with most of the customer service inquires. For me, one success story does not cut it.

Re: Well Done Delta P

personally i had a few little problems with my vr3,
like sitting on deco and the computer wipes out all dive info and goes into some strange garbled screen,
i sent it back to delta p on Friday and rang them on Monday to ask if they had it ok, to be told no they didn't as i had it....back that morning it was sitting at my dear old mums house all fixed and with new buttons to boot.

by the way they don't work at the weekends!
so far for me I've only had excellent service.
kind regards john routley

but i do understand it cant always be so slick

I can't really see what the problem is. If a cell is 3 year old it should have been replaced a long time ago.
