![]() ![]() | Re: VR3 battery duration question. I have used my VR3 colour for +30h with first battery. Still gives 3.6V. I have backligh off (goes on if I push a button). -Pasi |

| New Member Current Rebreather/s: | Re: VR3 battery duration question. I have the 3.6 volt as well and I dive with the backlight constantly on. Im not sure how much I get out of a battery, I really dont keep track, but I can tell you I just got back from Truk and dove 18 hours on a new batter and the voltage right now says 3.3, for whatever thats worth. Of course, be aware lithiums seem to be fine until all at once they are dead. Not like a alkalyne battery that slowly discharges. PS< have the color screen Last edited by what2be : 19th May 2006 at 21:31. |

![]() ![]() | Re: VR3 battery munching.... I also do not keep track of my batteries or dives but i reckon something like this... my vr3 is nearly 11 months old now.no color screen, c4 v3.03ac and i have only about 100 dives with it. normal alkaline 1.5v.....lasted 5 dives with backlight duracell alkaline 1.5v...lasted 9 dives with backlight lithium 3.6v Ls14500.....35 dives with backlight and dropped to 3.0v present battery...Lithium 3.6v Ls14500..50 ish dives with light-on-demand and still reading 3.3-3.4v after booting. Its a good one and only costs something like $15 and shipped in a couple of days. http://www.rs-components.com/index.html (select by country and search Rs product code 2019438) if you cant find it... its the 'Saft LS14500' from their datasheet it seems that voltage drops quick below 3.0v so i have taken this as an indication to change. rgds Last edited by Triton : 25th July 2006 at 12:46. |

At what depth does it freeze? mine froze at exactly 70m a few minutes after i landed on the wreck ... -Pasi it went back on, totally reset, while heading up. The depth is of course relative to how badly the cap is screwed in and i reckon would vary. I still do not know if the battery shrink wrap is slightly large or the vr3 batt cap/compartment machined a bit too small ![]() With my vr3, a normal painted battery fits in nicely, but the saft(or any heat shrunk plastic covered battery) fits in a bit too snug and this did not allow the spring to compress properly, causing the cap to be tightened improperly. In short whatever battery you use with a vr3 it is very important that the battery fits in such a way that the spring can compress properly. If your battery fits in loosely in the cap , i guess you do not have this problem. Last edited by Triton : 20th May 2006 at 00:33. |
