Any Feedback - VR3 w/ VPM B/E??

Has anyone done any diving with an upgraded VR3 yet??

I am very interested in getting feedback on the profiles with VPM B/E.

Thanks

Mark

Re: Any Feedback - VR3 w/ VPM B/E??

I thought VPM B/E is the work of Ross, and is proprietary ?

So unless Kevin paid Ross for it, I would tend to think VR3's version would be only VPM/B.

Re: Any Feedback - VR3 w/ VPM B/E??

Here is an snipit from the announcement....

************************************************** ****
What it does.

The new algorithm is based on VPM BE and depending on gas selection and dive depth and time, it will in some cases provide a reduced decompression requirement, although this is not always true. What the new algorithm does is smooth out the decompression profile. There are no deep micro-bubble stops and ‘normal’ decompression stops begin much deeper. Generally speaking, the intermediate stops are longer compared with the standard VR algorithm and shallower stops are shorter.

A unique feature of the V1 upgrade is that, once it is enabled, divers can switch to the algorithm they prefer for the type of diving they are doing, even in between dives if they wish. On every dive the VR computer records tissue and bubble states using both algorithms so divers can swap between the two without compromising their ability to switch back.

The ad mentioned "VPM BE" specifically so it must be so...

Mark

The Vr3-VPM suit me very well for deep diving, no more 2 minutes deep stop and big gaps between them, smooth profile all the way up and yes it look like VPM-b-e of Ross as +/- cons +3

never liked the original algorithm anyway

Jerome

Re: Any Feedback - VR3 w/ VPM B/E??

Jerome,

Do you mind doing a simulation and posting the table? Something like...

30 minutes @ 250fsw w/ pp02 of 1.3 using 10/52? I would like to compare it to the output from V-Planner.

Thanks

Mark

I asked Ross if he was involved in the development of the new VPM upgrade on the VR3 and he said he had no involvement with it.
