Re: VR3 & Fischer Connector

I have a brand new Fischer 7 pin plug SE103A057-130 which cost me OZ$90 and which I do not require. I was intending to make my own cable, but Jetsam just fitted a VR3 connector to my SK pod for USD$150 while it was back for warrantee repairs.

If anyone wants it pm me with an offer; you'll have to pay Air Mail postage from Australia.

Note: it is just the plug; it doesn't have either the rubber protector sleeve, NOR the environmental seal kit, both of which are avaliable from Farnell etc. The seal kit is ordered as a separate part depending on the diameter of the cable you want to use.

Re: VR3 & Fischer Connector

I rang Fischer UK about a 2 pin S103 to fit my explorer, it was about £13 +VAT and delivery. The minimum order value is £25, I'm in no rush so I will wait till I find someone else who needs somthing from them before ordering.

Did Jetsam fit the connector instead of one of the po2 monitors? can you wear it on either hand, or is it attached to the rest of the wrist unit? what additional parts would you need to hook it to a vr3?

Thanks

Re: VR3 & Fischer Connector

All they did was remove one display module and replace it with a VR3 cable (which looks like it probably came from Delta P).

Personally I would have preferred a bit more length of cable to give a bit more flexibility in positioning the unit on my arm.

I had actually already installed some cable myself prior to sending the displays in to Jetsam for repair/recall, but I hadn't got around to attaching the Fischer connector. This would have been trivially easy but I hadn't bought the seal kit.

Jetsam kindly offered to do it for me. It did cost US$150...

I have not as yet actually used it as I only got it back 2 days ago.

Re: VR3 & Fischer Connector

Hi AB,

that is the way I have been using mine for 12 months now. I would not have it ant other way.

only problem is if someone else uses your unit....your VR3 goes with it.

I has actually thought of getting a VR2 (now that they can do normoxic Helium mixes) just for training/hire with my KISSes

Cheers Jason

Re: VR3 & Fischer Connector

I've been toying with this idea too... but currently I'm new to the CK so don't want to make any changes just yet.

One thing I do like though with the 3 matching displays is that you can read all three at a glance and compare. Does the different VR3 presentation make much of a difference?

Cheers

Rich

PS I Presume that the VR3 shows the loop pp02 reading in the same position as the fixed pp02?
