IMHO, the color screen is the best thing that Delta-P added to the unit. The first time I saw the color screen at depth, I decided on the spot to buy one eventhough I sold a B&W version away years before. However, based on my experience, the color screen is more difficult to read when the backlight isn't on - more like impossible for me.

I have the backlight on permanently, I use Saft 3.6V lithium and they do last a fairly long time.b) MOST definitively. IMHO, the color screen is the best thing that Delta-P added to the unit. With the color screen I haven't had the need to graduate my mask. Now I can see perfectly well all the information no matter the depth. With the B&W I wasn't able to read some figures at certain depth, mainly is the viz was bad. The color screen imposes the use of 3.6v batteries and their duration depends on water temperature (and of course, the dives). Sue |

| Re: Colour Vr3 So - a rough idea on battery life? I use a 1.5v Li in my Vr3, lasts a pretty much a season or about 100 hours. It's not that I really object to the cost of changing the battery, it's just that it always loses the dive data and I hate resetting the date all the time.martin |
