| VR3 and prolink :-( Hi I had been using prolink for a while and changed my PC. Now I cant even get the software to download and install, it keeps failing. I tried getting the software again from the Ouroborus site, but that wont install either. To be honest the software and the IR link are pretty rubbish! Can anybody help with this? Thanks Eugene. |

| Re: VR3 and prolink :-( when you changed Pc's did you change OS? I have found it a pain to get it to work on Vista.

I'll give you rubbish on the IR link, I've sat in the dark downloading because it took umbrage at any artificial light so in the end I went for the plug in cable which at least does what it is supposed too.

| Re: VR3 and prolink :-( The software is so buggy and flaky, I just gave up. I use a reefnet data recorder to log my dives.

| Re: VR3 and prolink :-( I'm with matthew, but went one step more. Sold the VR3 (and warned the buyer of the problem) and bought a Liquidvision/vplanner live. Much better system! The deco matches 1 for 1 with V planner and it is much more visible under water. Liquidvision in action: San Diego's Scripps Canyon on Vimeo Phil |

| Re: VR3 and prolink :-( This really pisses me off. Delta P manufactures one of the most advanced dive computers on the market and has DOS based software and other crap that won't even run with Vista. I've been trying on and off for the last 8 months to get Prolink to work on my new laptop with no success. Has anyone actually gotten it to work and if so what did you do? The Liquivision is looking better and better.

Yeah I think this is going to start loosing Delta P a lot of customers soon they need to realise that DOS is dead and most people now are running either a Windows based machine or an Intel based Mac. I was told by them over a year ago that they were working on a windows based version of Pro Planner and there logging software so far nothing........ ![]() In the mean time I am seriously thinking about changing to the Liquivision X1. So I may have a Color VR3 OC/CC Nitrox etc up for sale soon if I can convince the wife of course ![]() |

| Re: VR3 and prolink :-( Padipro, VR3 was a state of the art dive computer 5 years ago. 5 years in the computer industry is a life time. Today they are no longer sell a viable product. Needing DOS is ridiculous. The algorithm is no longer state of the art. V planner or Buhlmann with GF are the current standard. VR-3's implementation of these algorithms are BS. If buying a computer today, I would recommend the Liquidvison or Shearwater. They the only ones that the consumer can update the software. As more and more dive data is analyzed, the algorithms will change and diving will become safer. As you know, diving Rebreather as we do is very close to experimental. We need to have the capability of software upgrades. VR-3 promised that years ago but never delivered. I voted with my pocket book. (I was a VR-3 owner) Phil |

| Re: VR3 and prolink :-( has DOS based software and other crap that won't even run with Vista. Have you tried DOSbox?DOSBox, a x86 emulator with DOS I haven't tried Proplan/link but I have some of my old DOS games running well on Vista and XP with it. I have it set up on my girlfriend's computer so she just needs to doubleclick an icon and it starts up on it's own. Kind of a rough fix but DOSbox is a great (and free) utility. |
