| Went diving yesterday , at 45m & 10 minutes into the dive my VR3 shut down ,No warning ,nothing at all .I happenend to be looking at it when it went ,about 2-3 minutes later it started up again on its own but had switched to Air & OC , It would not let me access anything via button pushing etc . Finished the dive on the Vision anyway & all was well . On checking later the VR3 would then allow me access to the menu but has lost all gas lists etc .The battery still reads 3.5volts & is the same make of battery that I have always used with no problems. Anybody any ideas ? obviously I'm ring DeltaP later .

| Re: VR3 switch off at 45m Hi Nad Buttons are fine & there is no movement in the battery ,As I said this is the same make of battery as I've always used & have had no problems which is why I stayed with the make .

| Re: VR3 switch off at 45m Hi Nad I quote what Rich say. Buttons are fine & there is no movement in the battery ,As I said this is the same make of battery as I've always used & have had no problems which is why I stayed with the make . The battery must move freely on the spring. If the battery coating is too thick and fits too tightly in the cap, this may lead to power supply problems during the dive and the computer will shut off and you will loose some data. Also if the battery is from the same maker and same model. Cheers Nad

| Re: VR3 switch off at 45m I quote what Rich say. As above. I have reported the very same problem a couple of months ago. Pilling off outer sheath solved the issues. The battery must move freely on the spring. If the battery coating is too thick and fits too tightly in the cap, this may lead to power supply problems during the dive and the computer will shut off and you will loose some data. Also if the battery is from the same maker and same model. Cheers Nad

| Re: VR3 switch off at 45m Was this incident after you threw it at Trebor in an atempt to get him to shut the f#ck up about finding that bell on the first dive? ATB Mark ![]() OH BTW I reckon it could be the SAFT as well. Tolerances arnt going to be tight on a battery cassing and its easily possable that one was 0.10mm bigger and all the other Safts you have used in the past.

| Re: VR3 switch off at 45m How many hours had the battery done previously? I had the same problem with a saft ls14500 (with wrapper trimmed) as my VR3 crapped out and a few mins later rebooted and had lost all gases. The battery level had been fine but apparently these lithiums just suddenly 'go', you dont get the low battery warnings like the 1.5v. I swapped out my battery for a new one and no probs since. Can't remember how many hours I had the battery in before it crapped out but it was a fair few dives. HTH Graham ![]() |

| Re: VR3 switch off at 45m Thanks all for the answers . By no movement in the battery I was meaning that it wasn't rattling around but it could move ok . DeltaP are saying the same thing so I have changed the battery & cut the wrapping off ,so we will see what happens . Mark :- It was on the first dive that it happened Mind you what a dive 12m viz ,a bell , a sextant & 2 portholes on one of the most popular wrecks in ther channel !All I got was a crab
