Re: vr3 or shearwater...?

I dive the URM on my CK while buddy (on here as IKM) dives shearwater setup.

Shearwater HUD is very neat.
Size of wrist unit is about the same.

I am not sure about VR3 issues. I think they are rock solid and just work!

When I got my CK it already came with the VR3-style displays and kidney. Similar to you. It was about time I'd bought myself a decent deco computer so I was gonna buy a VR3 anyway, i.e. with a bit of obscure logic all it did cost me extra was to buy the core module which comes with HUD. I really like my setup. It's never failed me and just works (Not that I have seen Shearwater fail)...Anyway, for me this was the easiest way to get a good system that would add to whatever I already had / not replace...

Cheers, Marc

Re: vr3 or shearwater...?

I have a VR3, and had never problems on it. I own a shearwater too, like it more, is so simple and intuitiv and has a nice Deco Model (GF) and Bruce from shearwater is a nice person to deal with.

So buy Shearwater

Re: vr3 or shearwater...?

Hi, just wondering (also for clarity of thread), when people say that they have owned both.....

Are they talking

1) VR3 and Shearwater

OR

2) Universal Rebreather Monitoring system and Shearwater

Because that's quite a difference (and I suspect quite a few of the replies fall into category 1!

Cheers, Marc

I have an independent VR3 and formerly had the CR2 Triple Display on my KISS. I never cared much for the display, and it has now been replaced with Shearwater with kidney and HUD.

Re: vr3 or shearwater...?

I have to say, I have dived a bunch of setups but my dual pursuit and HUD system is far an away the nicest.
