| Custom Title Allowed! Current Rebreather/s: | Another VR3 question Yesterday we went out and did a dive 200/25 using 14/44 tx. My total run time was planed for about 70 min. I was using my VR3 and tables for back up and my buddy was using a Cochran set on conservatism 35 and GF on the vision. Anyways when we started the ascent I noticed that I had about 45 min TTS which was according to plan. I had deep stops at 130' and 96' and then it started into the Bulman. After my deep stops I had to wait for my buddies computers to clear and I know that I wasn't at my deco depth but I noticed that my TTS time wasn't moving at all. Finally we were in the shallows but now I had almost 35 min deco left and I had already been in the water for nearly 70 mins. The long and short of it is my buddies computers cleared at minute 89, 15 mins before mine. After my buddies computers cleared I followed his to the surface but if I had stayed the extra 15 mins my total run time would've been 105 min. That's 40 min longer then the TTS and my tables. I do understand that I wasn't at my target depth but after my deep stops I started about 50' below my deco ceiling and gradually got closer as my buddies computer cleared. Is this normal? I know I was off gassing the whole time I was waiting but how close to my deco ceiling to avoid this problem in the future. Scott |

Out of curiosity, why didn't you follow your VR3 plan and do your stops? was it just to be close with your buddies? Wouldn't they wait for you then their deco was cleared? how do you feel about it?have you checked your conservatism compared to theirs? i am not am expert, but think that by staying at depth you were actually loading than offloading... Just curious. i suppose you know now to follow your plan... Take care. Spyros

Current Rebreather/s: | Re: Another VR3 question I used the simulation to recreate the dive to see how long it would be if I were to follow all the stops exactly and I discovered something interesting. When I leave the bottom it shows about 32 min TTS. After my 2 min deep stop at 130' my TTS jumps up to 45 min. What's up with that? The more I use the VR3 the more I dislike it. Scott |

Wouldn't they wait for you then their deco was cleared? how do you feel about it? Because two computer and my set of run time tables cleared before the VR3. One computer cleared 23 min before the VR3 would've. The other 15 mins and my run time tables 28 min before the VR3. I think that the amount of time the VR3 keeps you in the water is ridiculous. I see my VR3 in the very near future becoming a $1700 paper weight. For the record it wasn't my buddy who didn't want to wait it was me.i suppose you know now to follow your plan... And I always plan and dive my plan, but when a sub standard piece of crap gear produces outrageous deco profiles common sense and better judgement have to prevail.![]() |
