Is there any way we can set up something with Cochran to do some DEMO days or something????

Give them the opportuntiy to stick there head out and have a measure of good faith towards this new possible product?

Andrew
Cochran has done demos in the past at events.. I know Larry showed up at zero Gravity in GC two years ago with computers for everyone, and afterwards anyone who wanted them were able to buy them significantly below dealer cost.. several people ended up being used as beta testers and got their emc-16 upgraded to emc-20s...

If that wasnt a test for the computers I dont know what is... Many of the people purchased the computers..

I'm not sure who the current rep in tejas is, I knew the last rep... But cochran being from texas, why not talk to the sales manager (larry) and see what hes willing to do..

the 2 current products are the emc-16 with various options and the emc-20 which is helium capable..

If you look at my profile pic (attached to my chest) I have 2 cochrans, one is my personal unit(yellow) and one(black/blue) was a unit I was testing a new software/hardware release..

Unfortunately no cell integration....

I'm getting an HS Explorer. One of the main reasons is that I called the company twice and got the owner (Gene) on the phone both times. He spent a good 1/2 hour answering my questions including calling Jetsam directly to discuss the mod I wanted. He's going to make me a cable so I can integrate one of the existing O2 cells with the O model for direct readout on my SK (getting here in about two weeks).
So I know I can reach him quickly and get a response. Of course, I live in Florida and his company's in the same state. If I lived in Europe, I'd be getting a VR3.

Thumbs up

If you use RGBM profiles you will be very pleased, even if you do not I think you will still be pleased.

I got a HS explorer and am happy.

I got it as it was the only computer with a real bubble model - RGBM and I have been very happy with it. It is also the easiest to bail out with.

What is the button sequence to bail to OC on the HS ?

And how long would it take to execute ?

hold both buttons down for a one count.

Press button to cycle to your bail out gas - this could be just one click or 4 depending what CC slot you are in and what OC slot your bail out is in - the way I configure it it is 1 click.

then hold left button for 3 seconds.

so its pretty quick!

On the VR-3, you hold 2 buttons for ~1+ second and you are on the same diluent gas but in OC mode.

Well thats fine for air diving sure - but the diliuent for a bail out mix for trimix is a pretty shit mix.

So lets assume you dont do that then the process is a LOT longer and a LOT more complicated.

Anything that forces you to go from CC mode to OC mode then to choose the gas is sub optimal.

May be I am missing something here, but:
  1. You described exactly that: change mode then select gas even if it is the one you use as diluent. Sometimes even up to 4 steps more.
  2. Why would you use trimix bail-out gas different than in diluent tank ? Just to make it more complicated ?
So it is less optimal on the VR-3 to push 2 buttons together to switch mode than the HS to hold button to... then select... then hold 3 seconds to confirm... Huhmm, I think I am missing something
