| New VR3 User - HELP Hi everyone, I just picked up my Brand new VR3 with the 2007 (2007v3C) software. I have 2 things: 1) I can't seem to turn off the XFunc feature. I don't have my CCR Cert. yet, so I was wanting to get used to the VR3 using OC first. The feature list is: NxCC3JDY It is straight from the factory with the URM feature upgrades. (3 O2 sensors) If I understand the PIN breakdown list, I would expect the 'XB' code to be there. It isn't, but XFunc is on??? I'm confused EDIT - I can turn the XDec On/Off. -XFunc never gets highlighted, and always on Xo2 2) The Left button doesn't move smoothly - it feels like it's rubbing the side of the slot. Is this normal, should I try the: remove the clip, add WD40 solution?? Any comments/advice would be appreciated Thanks Scott Last edited by sunkmail : 24th October 2007 at 02:45. |

| Re: New VR3 User - HELP Hi Maybe the version with the URM upgrade is working a bit different. Important for you (using the computer OC) is to set XDec to "OFF" and switch the computer to OC mode as well. The XFunc can be ignored. Did you enter all PIN's? Normally the PIN's are listed on the last page of the manual, or on a small sticker. Some of the VR3 are delivered with all PIN's entered and some not... The "XB" code is for external O2 Cell (SCR, CCR, Analyzer function). Did you try to switch the Xfunc without having the VR3 connected to the URM manifold? DINspiration |

| Re: New VR3 User - HELP I think the X function was covered well. As for the sticky button. Take the clip out & remove the button with the spring. Use a fine grade rat tail file to smooth the bore that the button goes into. Then take a piece of emery cloth, roll it to fit in the hole & smooth the hole out to a fine polish. Also check the button itself they sometimes have an odd edge you will need to take down with the emery cloth. If you are diving salt I put three "V" grooves on the part of the button in contact with the VR3. This makes it easier to wash out salt crytals after a dive. Sounds like a lot of work but it only takes 10 minutes when you have everything together. Bobby

| Re: New VR3 User - HELP Thanks to each of you for the great comments! Bobby - I'll give that a try - seems like a reasonable approach. Dinspiration: It only came with one PIN, which I re-entered in order to get my name and phone number on the start-up, so it was definetly in there I don't actually have the URM portion yet, so it wasn't attached to anything. | Re: New VR3 User - HELP I sent an email off to Delta-P abou tthis concern. Here is the response: "Because your VR3 is already enabled for URM software you are unable to turn X-Func off but you can turn X-Dec off and still use the VR in open circuit mode. I explained this to our US office when the VR3 s were originally ordered as URM ready but not sold with URM hardware to go straight onto a rebreather." I'm guessing the manual was written before the URM was made, and this is an undocumented feature ![]() Hi Maybe the version with the URM upgrade is working a bit different.
