![]() | Dear All Have VR3 with 4th cell. Have tried to calibrate but am now totally confused. It reads 98% but with a millivolt reading of 127.8mV. I have tried to calibrate in air and only managed to get it down to 40mV ish. What do i do now??? Do i sell and buy a pursuit? Mark |

![]() | OK...... took the head off again, forced it to calibrate using 21%, seemed to work. reassembled the unit and calibrated again, then reflooded the loop, controllers read .98 .98 .98, all good vr3 now reads 1.04, mV about 40ish (can't remember) If I breath off the loop with O2 off PPo2 drops, as it should, Vr3 reads slightly higher than Classic. Does this mean I have now answered my own questions or am I still being a bit of a biff?? Mark |

In O2 (99% pure, and dry), your cell mV should be 0.99/.209 x AirMv. A few mV above this ideal value is good. A few mV below is not good. Hope this helps. I have an unreliable VR3. It seems to reset itself every time I have a deco obligation, or when inside a cave . |

![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: about to throw VR3 brick away Hi, Did you select the right calibration gas within the VR3 gas options menu? If you calibrate with O2 you need to enable NX99 and select it as calibration gas. DINspiration |

![]() | chose Nx98 for calibration. almost at the position of ordering pursuit. Not really sure if the vr3 will really monitor one cell well never mind 3 cells! M |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: about to throw VR3 brick away what cell holder are you using? I use a narked@90 cell holder with my VR3 and 4th cell, to calibrate the 4th cell i do it the same time as i calibrate up my unit. step 1: choose 98% as cal gas on your VR3 out of the gas menu. step 2: short push of both buttons to put VR3 into dive now mode (keeps the VR3 switched on for 5mins, enough time to do cal) step 3: Turn unit on an get to cal now screen, open mouthpiece select 98% (dont push to cal just yet) Step 4: short push of right button on VR3 (brings o2 on bottom of screen) now push and hold the same button to go to cal screen. step 5: push both buttons to say cal, same again to say flush gas (the VR3 should now say STABE Reading??), this is when i hit the unit to calibrate. step 6: once the unit has calibrated up, the mv reading on the VR3 should stabalise (little fluctuation up and down) step 7: push both buttons again on VR3 to confirm stable reading. step 8: left push (short) to go back to home screen Step 9: remember to switch off gas 98% and switch back on what ever DIL you are using in the gas set up screen and your all set to go. Using this method my 4th cell is perfectly inline with my standard cells. I have just done a 2hr 90m dive today in 5c at max depth, deco around 14c the the 4 cells where never any more than 0.03-0.04 away from each other even at the end of the dive. hope it helps ATB Gareth Last edited by Depth-junkie : 21st October 2007 at 19:59. |

![]() | Thanks Gareth I've done all up to about step 5. I'll try again tomorrow and see what happens. I thought I had done much the same today but couldn't get rid of the 127.8mV.... let you know how I get on. Mark |

Mark Dont worry to much about the mv reading, when it is calibrating up you only see a mv reading and not the po2 reading. Once the unit is calibrated up and no more 02 is being injected into the loop and the mv reading has stabalised on the VR3, just short push both buttons to confirm stable mv reading then push the left button to go back to the home screen, you should now see the po2 and it should be inline with the handset/s IMHO the trick is to do the unit cal and VR3 cal at the same time, when the standard cells stop climbing and calibrate up, the 4th cell's mv should stabilze at the same time as the 02 is stoped flushing into the system at that point.
