![]() | VR3 wrist strap modification suggestion wanted... To all - Does anyone have a better way to wear the VR3 on your wrist? On mine, the unit always slides down my arm or spins around. I'm constantly thinking it's going to fall off - it never stays put. I'm thinking of modifing a section of PVC: Use a half section of curved PVC lined with shoo-goo to make it sticky. Use this section as the back half of an arm band. I just need to think of away to securely mount the VR3 straps to the PVC. Anyone else have the same problems or solutions? Terry |

Drill a couple of holes to run zip ties through to secure the VR3 to the PVC and one hole in each corner to install bungee cord loops to hold everything on your arm. I've been diving with this setup for several years and it works great. The bungee cord is always adjusted properly and never needs to be tightened during the dive. It also allows you to rotate the entire thing out of the way if you need to bend your arm more or to gear up for the dive. ![]()

To all - I cut a short piece of webbing, and glued both ends to the arm of my wetsuit (w/ neoprene cement), leaving a hole in the middle. I now simply thread the VR3 strap through that hole. It never slips this way.Does anyone have a better way to wear the VR3 on your wrist? On mine, the unit always slides down my arm or spins around. ![]() | Re: VR3 wrist strap modification suggestion wanted... To all - http://www.rebreatherworld.com/rebre...r3-mounts.htmlDoes anyone have a better way to wear the VR3 on your wrist? Anyone else have the same problems or solutions? Terry Hi Terry I got rid of the VR3's off of my wrists, as I was bumping them on the wrecks and what not. I didn't like the weight, as well as tightening them enough to stay on, kind of worried me about a bend potential. Now they hang tight under my couterlungs. I made one to fit facing the front (main)and one to fit back facing (back up). The boys in cayman made theirs out of PVC but I thought that was too weak looking and opted for metal. A tinsmith with a pan-brake can bend up the SS (back facing) mount for you. The Aluminum one will take a Mig or Tig welding machine with high frequency start. Good luck and have at it. HB.

![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: VR3 wrist strap modification suggestion wanted... I use the loop of wire from the proper fisher dust caps to connect a very small caribna and then have equally small d rings on the arms of my suit. this keeps them exactly where I want them and means there are 2 independant links holding them to my arms and I won't lose them. I'll try and get a pciture and post it (probably ask some one to recieve them as an email attatch them and post on my behalf as for some one who works in IT I'm crap with computers!) Fin |

I've got little loops on my drysuit for the strap to run through holds it in place nicely.I'll try and get a pciture and post it (probably ask some one to recieve them as an email attatch them and post on my behalf as for some one who works in IT I'm crap with computers!) ![]() | Re: VR3 wrist strap modification suggestion wanted... Thanks guys I'm working on attaching it to a PVC arm band with surgical tubing. I like the idea of holding it in place with zip ties or a metal wire of some sort. When I get it worked up I will post some pix, thanks for some great ideas. Terry |

![]() | Re: VR3 wrist strap modification suggestion wanted... I just brace the VR3 on my left arm with a dive watch and compass on either side, seems to keep it in place. on the Right arm, the VR3 stands along but I don't feel it moving. However, on both arms, I have run an adjustable wrist strap (the kind used for piston grip flashlights or small cameras) through the loop and tighten that down, so the VR3 has another point of stability. That extra strap also serves as a backup, in case the wrist strap on the VR3 breaks, at least I have a fighting chance of not losing the thing. Jeff
