Vr3+ Salt Water+ Current=?????

Got VR3 doing something interesting.....

VR3 has 44 hours on it..... I have the Delta-P URM so the VR3 is wired into the 3 cells and drives the HUD......

on the second dive today the HUD shut down and I got a LOW BATT warning on th VR3... Now the Lithium battery had 12 hours on it.... so I thought it was odd that it killed it so quickly.

untill I examined the CR3 and Fisher connector.... take a look

The connector went in to the day looking perfect and came out of the day with this mess... AND the pin that acts as the ground was green and pissed off... now is was fine when I assembled the unit pre dive....

For this to happen it has to be electrolysis... I am looking for some feedback on what's going on with this and how to stop it.

and the fisher connector did have water in it...

sounds like you got water in the fischer connector.. the fisher plugs have to be treated with extreme care.. the slightest scratch or blemish and the plug is useless... You also have to keep the oring inside the socket lubricated without over lubricating it..
