| Custom Title Allowed! Current Rebreather/s: | VR3 TX question I'm planning a deep dive and I going to 17/46 as a dil down to 240'. Yeah I know the PO2 will be high but I plan on breathing down the mix to maintain a SP of 1.2. My question is if I have my VR3 set to 1.1 will the computer compute my deco using the 1.1 or 1.40 which is the actual PO2 of the dil at that depth. ![]() ![]() | Re: VR3 TX question If you have it on CCR mode and using the "4th cell" the VR3 will read the actual P02 at a given depth. If you want to set the P02 you can turn off the 02 sensor and it will use whatever fixed P02 you select. |

| Team Kinky Current Rebreather/s: | Re: VR3 TX question Just out of interest, why not use a dil that gives you a lower PPO2 at the target depth - perhaps 12% O2 or even going for 10/52 (Heliair)? Juz

It will not understand that you have manually overridden the set point on your CCR. You can see this happen if you set up the VR3 for fixed setpoint eg 0.7 at the surface and descend - once you are below the depth where the PO2 of the dil exceeds 0.7 it will display the PO2 of the dil, and I presume calculates the deco for that too. Not much of a problem on MCCR, although if you forget to switch up the VR3's PO2 it will give you more deco than needed. Could be more of a problem if you forgot to change up an ECCR's setpoint at the same time - the VR3 would calculate deco at the PO2 of the dil, but the ECCR would hold low setpoint, and the VR3 would indicate less deco than required! ![]() I can't see how I could forget to raise my actual PO2 on a Kiss so I'm not terribly worried about the effect for me! ![]() | Q for VR3 owners Is yours a color model, and if so was it worth the added cost? I am in the market to buy a VR3 in the next few weeks - currently I am only using OC - but CCR is on the agenda. I chose the VR3 because of it's reputation and ability to upgrade - a computer that I won't outgrow. Are the monochrome displays really that hard to read (ie necessitating the color upgrade) thanks
