Are the monochrome displays really that hard to read (ie necessitating the color upgrade) Good, but not worth the extra $ if you're not diving way deep or in caves but that's just my opinion. You'll find better ways to spend your money on your Rebreather once you got it or on the options when ordering it. I mean ways to make your rig safer for the $$ you'd had spent on the color VR3 vs monochrome. Something like a HUD, or the Vision or the HH or the Shearwater... THIS is worth the expense. Yes it is a lot easier to see on dark dives but I could have read the old vr3 . I think alot of the time on the monochrome I found it took longer to pick out the details on screen were as the colour can have different colour background/writing for different parts of the screen . If you want to set the P02 you can turn off the 02 sensor and it will use whatever fixed P02 you select. That's true for software v3+. For v2.x, even if the monitoring is off, if PO2 exceeds set point it will use that instead. Presumably why they changed it in v3.

![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: VR3 TX question I wouldnt pay to get an existing monochrome VR3 upgraded to a colour screen, but if speccing from new, I would DEFINATELY get a colour screen.
