| RBW Member Current Rebreather/s: | VR3 screen problem... My VR3 has developed a dead row of pixels across the centre of the display, I can still read all the salient information, but wonder if whatever's gone wrong, might cause more rows to die, meaning I may lose important info (I carry tables so it'll only be an inconvenience, before I get flamed!) So if DeltaP tell me that I should have the screen replaced, should I go for the colour screen upgrade, or is it not worth it? And another question, do you need the backlight on all the time in order to read the colour display? Thanks for any info Simon |

Colour screen is nice and clear but if I were to choose once more time, I think I will get the b/w: no light, more battery life and, last but not least, more money in my pocket. So if DeltaP tell me that I should have the screen replaced, should I go for the colour screen upgrade, or is it not worth it? I guess that will come down to how much they'll charge me for a replacement B&W screen vs the cost of a colour one - I've heard the colour upgrade is £200? Nad |

| Custom Title Allowed! ![]() Current Rebreather/s: | Last week I dived with a buddy with colour screen and did not like it, as you have to switch on the light everytime to read it! On mine I just give it a glance and see everything. At the end it is just preference and battery price ![]()

| RBW Member Current Rebreather/s: | Just had a reply from DeltaP, and it's gonna cost £45 for a replacement B&W screen, or £198.56 for a v3 software upgrade (required for colour compatibility) and a colour screen. Is a colour screen worth £150 to me..... ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() .....no I don't think so. |

Yep, if my memory don't play strange tricks. Then you however have multiple light options: always on, just with a button pressure... Nad

Nad On = On DOn = On when in dive mode Dtm = on for 10 seconds on a button press Off = Off ..and when in a light off mode the backlight will come on automatically and flash in an alarm condition (ascent rate, mossed stop depth etc) Are there other modes with the colour screen then? |

| I upgraded mine to color few months back and I would not like to go back to B&W. Color is so much clearer especially in poor condition. All my friends want to upgrade the down side is the price... I just had a battery low warning this week-end and light switch off, so I had to keep pushing the switches to reactivate the light. It is almost impossible to read the screen without the backlight, I tried to put the torch on it but still extremly difficult to read...
