| Hi to you all from sunny Oz! (sounds good although to be fair it is raining here at the mo )I have read some previous posts regarding the upgrade of the VR3 to incoporate Delta P's own version of the VPM algo's. From what I have read to date there is mixed feedback. Some of the posters reported that the in water time is significantly far longer than that for Buhlman or VPlanner. Any feedback from anyone as to why this is? Have some of you out there had other gases turned on when you shouldn't have, which then gives longer run times? Also any feedback on the new menu system that Delta P is touting which is supposed to allow you easier access to work the thing?!? Cheers, Steve |

| Re: VR3 VPM Upgrade & New Menu Hi The new menu you are talking about is part of the new 2007v firmware for the VR3. They now have the "Qstart" option. Depending to the selcted Qstart option is the dive screen and some other menu options. There is a document about this on the Delta P homepage. At the moment, having had a TTS of 132 minutes instead of 70, there is no solution, apart from 'something must be wrong inside' which means a holiday back to the mother country. Any feedback from anyone as to why this is? Quote: Have some of you out there had other gases turned on when you shouldn't have, which then gives longer run times? Not this little yellow duck. One issue however is that Delta-p have admitted in email that their version of VPMB/E is the equivalent of +3/4 in V-planner. Then, you can add conservatism. I'm all for not wanting to cut corners in deco, but I'd like some light at the end of the tunnel... If evey computer manufacturer added conservatism at every point, then soon we'll either have no NDLs or just sit for ever on a rope waiting for the computer to clear... ... delay posting while just playing with V-planner a bit... Bing *ucking go! My issue was on a 75m, 20 minute dive and getting 132 minutesascenttime, including a nice 63 minute 6m stop. This was using 15/55 dil. I just couldn't get V-planner to recreate a deco schedule thatreembled whatmy VR3 (VR$?) gave me... unless... I go to air at the 6m stop on +4 conservatism... Anyone feel like trying this out on a dive? cheers Andy

| Re: VR3 VPM Upgrade & New Menu DeltaP have shipped a bunch of the new 2007v VR3s with the 'X' part of the Qstart mode disabled. If its happened to you contact them and they will give you a PIN to correct the problem. Simon |

| Re: VR3 VPM Upgrade & New Menu Hello everybody! I'm really interested in this tread because I've a VR3 Buhlmann mode (means ProPlanner with deep stops) and I'm thinking about the VPM model upgrade. It seems clear to me the fact that selling a decompression algorithm is quite dangerous the sellers legal responsabilities are very high.Quite understandable the choose of VPM B/E or VPM B +4. The question is another: these settings are safe for DeltaP, but at the same time could be useful for the diver itself?! I've an answer as a trimix instructor:using VR3 to such a conservative deco plan I'm ok, my students'll never get DCI and that's fine because I stay away from the jail (wonderful...because I'm a policeman ) |
