3D filming

do you consider that a SI-2k with a hydroflex housing and a Panasonic 3d-a1 with a gates housing are good enough for filming something "world class"? Anyone interested in talking about this? I’m looking for feedback and potential film opportunities, would need divers to film. PM please

Depends what you mean by 'world class', but I would be tempted to say no, they are not good enough....

world class is a high standard...one i'd apply to red one cameras...dang why do they have to be so expensive.

Thanks for the link as I did not know what kind of cameras were producing the "world class" film. I will be getting one of these and all the accessories when I have my first kid (and second and probably third) and put them up for sale!

Once again, 'world class' is not really a good definition. It really depends on what you're shooting, and what your final product will be shown on. Red One is a good camera, but, for example, it is not getting a lot of support in the IMAX community. (The Red Epic, however, is getting pretty good support at this time for IMAX). We're still talking video at this point, and there are a lot of options - don't forget film (World class film is still shot on film)! Your glass is also a huge component when you're getting into the high end cameras as well... So -- What it really comes down to is - What do you want to do with your final product.

Not 3d, but the BBC's starting position is that if it isn't on one of these, they don't want your video:

That's a starting position. If you have something they really really want, they will accept others, but its another hurdle to cross.
