![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Cave diving video from the Yucatan Hi all, I thought you might enjoy a cave diving video so here it is: Dive Addicts cave dive in Mexico on Vimeo These images were shot 4 weeks ago during a week-long trip to Quintana Roo, Mexico. Accomodations and diving were provded by Aquatech in the Akumal area. Although most divers in the group were diving OC, three of us dove rebreathers; 1 Meg, 1 Vision Inspo and 1 HH. It's not the best quality video you've ever seen but considering it was shot with a tiny point-and-shoot digital camera in video mode it's not bad. Enjoy! Tibby

Did you go pretty far in? Hi Dave, We didn't have a lot of tank size options at the facility, and we decided that we didn't want to go the team bailout route, so we were stuck with al80s. We were able to go farther than the OC guys!

Thanks! Like Randy said below...also the whole point in taking the rebreathers on this trip was to get in more practice rather than going far.Hi Dave, ...Besides that it was really good practice with larger tanks. We also learned how important it is to sidemount and bungy-up one's bailout. I'm sure Josh can relate to that We didn't have a lot of tank size options at the facility, and we decided that we didn't want to go the team bailout route, so we were stuck with al80s. I've never dove a mine and I'm a bit scared it might colapse or something since it's not natural and all. Does that ever happen? Tibby

Hi hi,I've seen some really nice pictures from mine/caves in Finland and I believe it. I've never dove a mine and I'm a bit scared it might colapse or something since it's not natural and all. Does that ever happen? Tibby Yes its kind of summer and winter vacations compo since i dont have "time" to keep any summer vacations. Heh heh. Well what comes to the mines i have not heard that there have been any collapsing issues at least not in Finland. Maybe i am wrong but havent heard. All walls and and ceilings are rock solid stone so i would not believe its collapsing. There is some passages that they have closed with huge stones and dirt so maybe if we or someone would want to try to remove it then maybe. If you ever pass by here you are more than welcome to come to see what there is and how it looks. Have a good weekend and enjoy the dives. I will go to the caves starting today and coming back home on sunday. ![]() Best TB |

I must be thinking of a different kind of mine then, more along the lines of dirt tunnels supported with timber beams...that would be scary! If it's rock, I'm game. Who knows, one of our customers is in Helsinki so maybe I'll make there one day. We're exploring yet another alpine cave here in Utah this weekend, hopefully it'll be a nice, big one this time. Have fun this weekend. Tibby
