They claimed 'deepest cold water cave dive on an Rebreather' they didnt claim 'deepest cold water cave dive on an Rebreather by the worlds best divers' Odd distinction, but ho hum.I have no problem with records, I think they keep things interesting and like seeing people push their limits. This seems to be a great dive and whether or not it is a particular 'record' is neither here nor there.

This is the problem with communicating with some. Have to spend the whole time 'explaining' things so they get it. Even then, clearly, they still dont get it Ho hum

There's a big difference between "personal best" and "world record", unless your name was Dave Shaw.Ho hum

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: World Record - Gigi Casati Reaches -205 with Voyager Rebreather - Vrelo Cave Croa I should have been more specific. In fact, I WAS, but edited it to remove names etc etc... Hi CD,The presentation I'm talking about was made by a group of blokes that I consider mates. (after this post, wether they still consider me mates is another matter... )... I didn't take the presentation as them blowing their own trumpet, but after hearing the comment from behind me, I listened with an ear to their point of view, and I can UNDERSTAND how that presentation could have been seen that way. I never saw it that way, mainly because I had at-length discussions with a number of the members of the expedition both before and after the expedition.I wasn't aware people viewed that trip as anything other than some fairly interesting exploration in a remote part of Australia. I certainly don't think of us as record seekers or self promoters of any type whatsoever. If we were we were pretty crap at it as I don’t think it was anyone's deepest dive and we picked a few of guys to do the presentation that aren't exactly well known for self promotion in Ken Smith, JDZ and Paul Hosie. In all honesty I cant think of 3 guys who have done more than them and quite simply kept it to themselves. Ah well, you can't please everyone all of the time. We did get an award though… and to quote one of the trip members when he found out he was a recipient of an award from the NSS…. " What? What is is for? 6 blokes camping in the bush for a couple of weeks and having fun?" Something I'm sure CD can relate to given the people on the trip. PS She's apples, you are on my chrissy card list.
