Re: Fantastic Voyage to Wrigley Field

The current Pod Diver Radio podcast has Brian talking about Dan's Cave as well.

I look forward to the video Marc.

Re: Fantastic Voyage to Wrigley Field

I was in the Abaco's about 5 years ago and ended up in a cave system on OC, through one of the shops. The guy who led our dive was Fred Davis and the entrance of the road was blocked by a fallen tree, which was actually on a swivel. It was a fantastic dive, it was gin clear and the caves were tremendous.

Must try and get back with the Inspiration

Re: Fantastic Voyage to Wrigley Field

Great report - just added another "must do" destination to my list!

Thanks

This was the trip of a lifetime. Can't wait to go back!

Any recommendations as to where to stay while there? Any deals?

Unfortunately, everything in the Bahamas is rather expensive. We stayed at the Conch Inn, which was good, but pricey. I suggest to contact Brian (Cave Diving and Technical Diving Adventures) if you want to go there. He knows the best deals.

Wow, the video is breathtaking! If that's not an incentive to get cave training I don't know what is. This is by far the best cave diving video I've seen so far. Great work! Thanks for sharing.

Re: Fantastic Voyage to Wrigley Field

While the video is truly amazing, there were some other parts of the cave that were so fragile that we dared not risk bringing the camera there. It really is that incredible.

The video is ready! You can download it here:

http://www.laukien.org/DansCaveJuly2007.wmv

Note that the video is 652MB in size, so I suggest to download it first and then open it with your video player, instead of trying to play it directly. It is shot in high definition, and I don't like to compress my videos to lower visual quality.

The video shows the first 1,500 feet of Dan's Cave. We didn't take the big camera on our long dive to Wrigley Field.
Due to popular demand, here is a low-resolution version (54MB) of the same video:
