Re: Rebreather

My personal favorite OTS CL rebreather is the Meg. Very well made, solid, easy to configure with different tanks - or no tanks a la Cedric sidemount

For rear lung units - no doubt at all, the MK15 (15.5 better)
No opinion on Boris yet as I havent dived/broken one yet.

If your doing your course with Frank (is he back diving now?) or Paul at LLBC they have a few different units there maybe you can do some try dives on different ones. Last time I was there they had Inspiration, Mk15, Kiss and Meg IIRC.

Re: Rebreather

Hi Jason,
(and welcome to RBW)

from your bio, it says that you dive an Inspiration, so why would you want to do your course on any other unit?

Re: Rebreather

Hey Jason,

I dive O2ptima, Meg and Classic Inspiration and I really like the O2ptima for travel and the Meg for extended range dives because you can fit the Cis canister and soon ISC will release his canister based on the Cis canister.
But ,like Jason Blackwell say, if you already dive Inspiration I'd stay with the unit I dive in regular basis to do the Trimix course and change later.
Cheers,

Mike - www.protecdiving.com

Re: Rebreather

OTS lungs: PRISM my choice, Meg would be right behind.
Rear lungs: MK15.5 would be first choice, Boris my second.

Re: Rebreather

I am a newbie diving an Optima. I am pleased with it. There are some things I like about lots of rebreathers out there. Each has some pluses and some minuses.

Re: Rebreather

I've only dived an Azzi, an Inspo, and tried a homebuild..but have to say the inspiration i find very comfortable, low WOB, and very stream lined, especialy once you ditch the original herness and put a backplate on it!!
