If they do are the boats carrying a back up ladder? Seems very similiar to the electric boat lift motors we used to use for lifting PWC platforms and winching the boat up on the trailer. The backup was a hand crank or wheel, which was still pretty easy to use for that kind of weight.Just curious... Ted... Great project for all your free time.... ![]() | Re: Diver Lift/Elevator? Rich, part of the enjoyment of diving is watching your ass climb up that 6' ladder one step at a time. ![]()

Linked because they are full res. Both hydraulic and you can see the spine ladder roped across the back in one. In a rough sea they make a lot of difference to the recovery. None of this lark of clipping off the stages to a line so they can be hauled up separately just grab the frame, brace yourself against the waves and when you look up he hits the switch. Waddle off and sit down with people grabbing for your hands. When we had to do a diver recovery they set it higher, we sat him on, they winched him up grabbed his rig and just dragged him backwards into the boat. We weren't having to do AV as he was conscious but it was less than thirty seconds from when we let go to when he was in their hands. http://www.nigelhewitt.co.uk/stuff/parbuckling.jpg http://www.nigelhewitt.co.uk/stuff/2...e/P9060138.JPG

I always thought that exertion after a long deco was considered a very bad move. Lifts are common in the UK and we like them. I can climb a ladder but why should I? I do this for fun. The saftey argument is all good and valid reason. But sometimes people gets a little lazy in maintaining reasonable personal fitness if they don't hit their limitations. I would say there is quite a few diver out there, that could benefit from less burgers and beer. Comfort and cozy is nice, but sometimes people need a wakeup call, before they start rethinking their situation. |

Some valid points I agree but what about those that dive with disabilities should they have to give up the sport they love just because they may struggle with a ladder in rough seas. But sometimes people gets a little lazy in maintaining reasonable personal fitness if they don't hit their limitations.
