Risk and Exploration-(Reading)

This was a three part series done by NASA after the Columbia accident on risk and exploration. It has some interesting people involved.

Risk and Exploration-
NASA administrator’s Symposium
Sept 26-29 2004
Naval Postgraduate school

Link- http://history.nasa.gov/SP-4701/riskandexploration.pdf

Notable topics-
James Lovell talks about-
Apollo 13 crew and use of lunar landing scrubbers verses command vehicle scrubbers.

Michael Gernhardt speaks about-
commercial diving- EVA, and the programs he was involved with.
*If anyone has info on this gentleman and the “pre breathe program” he developed for EVA’s I for one would be interested for one in it. *
There is an interesting quote referred to and diving pioneer C. J. Lambertsen.

Bill Stone provides interesting comments on life support systems and provides brief insight into life support systems, needs and uses.
(don’t forget the Q&A- more good stuff.)
John Chatterton does an introduction that I am sure we all know about.

Please note this document is some 308 pages/ 2.7MB.
Great reading when your off the grid.
(we could do with a reading room!)

Regards, Andrew

Re: Risk and Exploration-(Reading)

We do have a Library area. If there is enough support for it, the Librarians will consider adding this to our content.
