Re: Last few spaces for the Ice Prince

OK its not a popular choice that we do the Solsett if its too rough.

Its suposed to be an easterly so the Solsett would be a sheltered dive. However we have only four divers up for it at the momnet so i am looking at costing.

Id estimate the Solsett will be a 8.00-9.00am ish go

Does any one have a better idea?

Mark.

HMS Warrior 2 was a yacht requisitioned by the Navy during World War 2 for use as an inshore patrol boat, sunk in a bombing raid in 1940. I did it a couple of years ago on OC, about 54m max depth. Nice wreck, largely broken up, lot of brass still on it.

It is some way out from Portland though, at least about an hour's boat ride IIRC, but a nice dive if you get to do it.

Dive safe,

Gary

Re: Last few spaces for the Ice Prince

Latest news on the ice Prince dive Friday 9th May

Graham is looking into the salvage situation. The bad news is the salvers are looking for a weather window this month to remove the diesel from the wreck.

As a result the exclusion zone could be strictly enforced and we will be unable to dive the wreck.

I am awaiting information from the coat guard and expect to here tomorrow (Friday)

If we cant get on the Ice prince Graham is willing to do just about anything we like. I have had a vote for the Rotarour already but if any one has ideas or even a list of 50-65m wrecks they DONT want to do then fine.

Re: Last few spaces for the Ice Prince

Due to the fact the boat is now changed to "Outcast" and its a tad smaller than anticipated (Lamlash isn't ready to sail) we have limited the numbers to 10 divers.

Friday 9th May with Graham Knott on Outcast 9.00 go

1: Mark Chase
2: Howard the Dude
3: Janos
4: AndyP
5: ccr_ada
6: Ben Field
7: Ben Field
8:Howard P
9: Jon Adams
10: Bottlemaker

The Boat is a 30 Venom and has a diver lift. It is located near the old Rooms Pub

Parking area is shown as well.

I fully expect it to be a go but Ill post confirmation on hear tomorrow (Thursday) at around 7pm

PM me with mobile numbers if you want a text.

Please don't forget to bring a strobe to mark the bottom of the shot and a clip for the station that indicates you're still in the water. A line laying reel may be necessary as well.

See you all on Friday.
