But I'm sure you'll make the right decisions regarding your future in diving. Richie I feel great, have been cleared by my cardiologist and neurologist and have resumed my normal non water activity level...having totally lost January to the concussion and part of February. I had no short term memory over night memory in January and not much in February. It is really hectic getting my life back on line. Still am a little behind but catching up really fast. I requested information on the defib/pacemaker installed in my chest from Boston Scientific. After a number of hems and haws, I was informed that the unit was currently approved for about 15 feet of water or so.....the good news was that they were testing the rig to sport diving depths. I sure don't want pressure to crush the sides in or to force body fluids into the electronics or in the battery compartment. (There are units certified to sports diving depths and I can certainly live with that having little to prove left in my 56 years of diving). In less than a month, I should know if the unit will have to be replaced or I am free to go. In the meantime, I have limited my water stuff to 12 feet of water in the pool and have no trouble swimming 150 feet holding my breath with fins of course. Lastly on the CO2 patent, at the not so subtle request of the patent office, I retained the services of a local patent attorney, and am moving forward with the CO2 system. On this patent, I thought I could just role my own, I got nailed by my own lack of patent formating knowledge....Not on the technology or claims. Thanks for the kind words and wishing you guys the best of luck Tom

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: A ninty day sentence to stay above the silver curtain A small victory and some advice..... A wee bit of background. I am fully recovered now. Several weeks ago I was over at Duke meeting with Dick Vann and the staff. We were discussing CO2 monitoring....I was in demo mode. We also discussed my pacemaker. Dick had kindly sent me an article on testing of pacemakers for diving. This week I got the word on my unit... A T175 from Boston Scientific. They had completed testing. Results are mixed. I am now cleared for 66 feet of water....not a deep as I want to go but deep enough to do a lot of diving until the unit is cleared for deeper. Starting planning some beach trips over the next couple of weeks within compliance of the test depths. A work of caution...if you ever consider having a unit put in....check the depth of test prior to installation. For you reading pleasure, here is the report I got today. I want to thank you all for your encouraging thoughts and words. For now I am going diving for a few days to wet my gills. Tom
