Well, my instructor told me that if I didn't bring adequate bailout, do my checks, and pack my scrubber carefully, I'd be well and trully f#$ked... does that count?

I was once gleefully told by a female instructor that due to the pressure of water v the available blood pressure, below a certian depth gentleman divers would find themselves... erm... unable to "rise" to the occassion

Can't remember what the magic depth was and she was unwilling to conduct experiments

Surely all you need is to be the same amount above ambient so obtain the same... rigidity. I would have expected it to work reasonably independently of depth.

If pressure had an effect we elderly grandfathers would take more Alpine holidays.

Dunno... I shall keep looking for a (discreet) lady diver who is willing to do some experimenting... purely in the interests of science you understand
