![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I have made a simple Evolution Simulator Hi all I had my first intro dive on the Inspiration (my wife had the Evolution) in Sharm this July. See my intro: http://www.rebreatherworld.com/intro...be-norway.html Since then I have been making a simple simulator. It really is just doing simple stuff, but the interface has been improved. The simulator should run on MIDP phones, but the layout has been designed for my Ericsson W810, and I have no idea how it will look on other phones. Se attached .gif for a demo or install the attached .jar. The demo is for entertainment only. enjoy |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: I have made a simple Evolution Simulator Hi again There doen't look as there is much demand for it .... But, I am having quite some fun making it, sooo here is a new version. I have made the sound from the Solenid relative in length to the amount of O2 being added. At least it makes me listen to what I think should happen, at different stages of the dive profile. After having opened the tanks (* for Dil and # for O2) and mouth valve (zero), it's possible to flush with dill by pressing 8 (once to start and once to stop). The hands of the diver should light up to show what is happening, and a "toalet-flush-sound" should be heard. There is a hidden feature (no more ;-) that makes the phone vibrate (buzzer) when the leds go red - select the Help screen and click * (star) to exit it again. This will also show two numbers up to the left, displaying the size and gas-volume in the loop (the latter increasing at depth). The system is "semi-auto-boyant" - in the sense that it will fill (Dill) and dump gas from the loop to maintain approx. 4 liters of loop size.(my off-the-head-guess). As said before: it is all fake - so dont look too closely at my cheating implementation, but it gives me something to play with - until I get my mitts on the real thing. jsevland Last edited by jsevland : 13th September 2007 at 21:01. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: I have made a simple Evolution Simulator ... and now with a very basic Buhlmann algorithm. Estimates no-deco-time, but not calibrated for constant ppO, but using normal air mix. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: I have made a simple Evolution Simulator Hi all I have found a way to run the simulator on the net (actually in the Browser). I have only tested on MS Explorer ... JVision: http://webstart.mpowerplayer.com/home.broadpark.no/~jesevlan/JVision/JVision.jad (sometimes the web-service fail to start, so you may have to click more than once) INSTRUCTIONS: There is no proper manual yet, but the buttons on the controller is the same as for the Evo: - click any button to get out of the green help-screen (outdated) - click “1” to power-on the computer (Wrist Display Controller) - This will show the “dive-mode-surface” screen - The three numbers at the center are the O2 partial pressure from the O2-cells - “C1” at the top left means that controller 1 is master - Click “1” again to see both controllers (reverts back after 5 sec) - - The Head Up Display (HUD) is at the top of the screen (attached on the loop, just below the mask) - The HUD is blinking red (on both controllers) because the Opp is below the nominal range (0.4 to 1.6) - Click Left Arrow to see the Evo (backpack) - To open the Diluent (Air) click “*” (star) - To open O2 click “#” (hash) - Now the Solenid should start firing at 6 second intervals (the sound is relative to the amount of O2 added) - - Click Right Arrow to return to the computer - The Opp should now slowly increase to the set-point (0.7 – next to the C1) - Click Right Arrow again to see the diver (the Left/Right arrows are round-robin) - Click “0” (zero) to open the mouth valve - The diver will now start to consume O2 (1.1 L/min), while the controllers will try to maintain 0.7 Opp - - Click “8” to flush the loop with Diluent (Air) – click 8 again to stop flushing (the flush is immediate – which is wrong) - The Opp will drop and the HUD will again blink (slowly) red to indicate low Opp until it is restored - - Click Left Arrow to return to the computer - Click repeatedly Down Arrow to descend (0.3 m/min per click) - The screen will change to “dive-mode-underwater” at 1.2 meters - The 999 at bottom left is no-deco-time (999 means that it is outside of Buhlmanns algo) - At approx 20 meters the no-deco should get a value (my Buhlmann is really basic – coded last night) - - Click “2” to change set-point to 1.3 - The dive-time (above the no-deco) is off by one hour (think it’s a Daylight Saving bug) - By clicking on the so called “fire button” (circle in the middle of the arrows) the dive-time can be advanced (now underlined) - Click Right Arrow to advance by one minute (per click) - Click fire-button again to exit time-advance - - If you keep on descending (fast) the Opp will increase until the HUD starts blinking (fast) red – to indicate too high Opp That’s about as far as I have come … Remaining work: - The Buhlmann algo need some more work - I would like to graphically show the gas-loading in the compartments (M-values) - Also draw the dive-profile and Opp level graphically - Then; DIVE THE REAL THING!!! The simulated diver jsevland |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: I have made a simple Evolution Simulator BTW: you can download the Sim directly to your phone using WAP, by typing home.broadpark.no/~jesevlan/JVision/JVision.jad as an address in the WAP browser. The download will take a few minutes, depending on you network speed (EDGE is good). (and may cost you a fortune - depending on your operators data charging regime - the sim is approx 400 kB) jsevland |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: I have made a simple Evolution Simulator Hi again Updated the MpowerPlayer version, with graphical dive profile (depth and O2 pp) and a graphical representation of M-values and in-/out-gassing of compartments (Buhlman). Still possible to download the Sim directly from: home.broadpark.no/~jesevlan/JVision/JVision.jad home.broadpark.no/~jesevlan/JVision/JVision.jar Promise to keep quite for a while now - pulled a few late-nighters over the last week and need to wind down. jsevland |
