Dr Mike - Whats happening?

I think maybe we need some clarity here, since there seems to be a lot of myth/rumour flying around in multiple threads.

Mike is indeed a valued contributor to RBW, but like all of us he's part of a community hoping to share knowledge/learning. As such, he helps to make or break that community by his behaviour, which is why we established some TOS to guide behaviour on here. Now we might not all agree with every single detail of the TOS (Im finding half of the avatars that I find personally amusing are unsuitable according to the TOS, hence I dont use them), but we all agreed to abide by those rules and if theres one thing we dont want on RBW its favouritism or cliques. This site is open to everyone who wants to contribute, which is probably reflected in the EQUAL ammount of accusations we get alternately of protecting/attacking a certain brand of CCR.

Anyway, Mike unfortunately hasnt been able to abide by those TOS, which lead to repeated warnings, starting with reputation hits, through PM's, until eventually we implemented infraction hits on his account. The last infraction has put mike to a TEMPORARY read-only mode. This expires in 14 days from his infraction and has NO after effects. All this talk of banning arose from a site glitch in the temporary read only group (ie *I* made a mistake), which has now been cleared.

Personally Mike, I'd love to see you back contributing and gathering information from RBW, but thats your choice and yours alone. Theres no hard feelings here or with any member of the site moderation team.

As was commented last night, it seems that putting keyboards between divers can lead to a lot more problems than putting a pint there, maybe we all need to stand back and get some perspective here.

PS. Normally we dont discuss individual account handling on RBW, since we prefer to respect users privacy, but in mikes case I'll make an exception since his setting up another account to comment openly would suggest he's happy to share the information.
