New Cam Strap

Hi Guys,

I wanted some straps to put on my kiss that would lock down the cylinders. I wasn't happy with standard cam bands as the buckle would not snap tight. I went out and found these great locking buckles. They are similar to the Scuba Pro bands. You adjust the strap and it holds with velcro for the size, then you snap the ring into the buckle and it locks down. Since these are made for OC tanks you will need to cut off the excess strap for small cylinders.

To set them up on the KISS all i did was unscrew the hold down nuts to the rails and slid them under. If all your tanks are the same size you will adjust the bands once and forget em. If you are using diff size tanks then just put a paint mark on the band for each size and the adjustment is simple enough.

Find em HERE

$40 USD msrp -- on sale now for $34.00
Order a Pair and you can have em for $59.95
note in Comments Box on Check out -- Rebreather World Special $59.95 USD / pair.

Cheers

Re: New Cam Strap

Nice work.

Must say I love my scubapro cam straps, great for when you're using the same sized cylinders, but a PITA when you constantly swap and change like I do.

I still use em though.

Have snapped too many plastic cam buckles to count.

I solved the problem with a white paint stick -- I mark the webbing where the ring needs to be -- I only move between my Steel Fabers and Luxfer Alums so its pretty easy to do.

Re: New Cam Strap

Yeah, that'd work if you were only using a couple of your own tanks.

I tend to do a lot of air travel (I work for an airline), using various rental tanks wherever I end up, so I don't know what I'll be using till I get there.

Even though it won't really work for me, I do like the paintstick idea though, have some green!

Well it could -- there are really only 3 sizes

Faber, Luxfer, Worthington.

put three marks for small, medium and fat .......

Re: New Cam Strap

Joe,

Some quick questions:
  1. How is the metal strap part conform to the smaller curvature of the smaller Rebreather tanks ?
  2. Do you ship overseas ? (I am lazy to check out your website)
Thanks...

1. It bends just a little to take form the first time.
2. I will ship to most anywhere in the world except Indonesia and parts of Africa unless a wire transfer is sent first.

Cheers

Re: New Cam Strap

Great suggestion.

I'm pretty happy with my inspo cam bands that I am using at the moment but when these are knackered I'll be getting a set.
