| My unit can beat up yours Current Rebreather/s: | Re: New Hammerhead Sets - Announcement maybe a dumb question- just observed it and wonder. if u need to replace batteries in handset daily-don't u lose remaining deco obligation info? No - if you need to change batteries while you still have desat. time the handsets have a 'sleep' mode they can be put into via the user menu. Once asleep, you have roughly 2 minutes to open the battery compartments, make the change and then bring them back online without losing your tissue data. This exercise was specifically part of our Optima training, but for people who upgrade other units to HHs I guess the only way for them to know is to RTFM. Cheers,

So retention of your RNT or RHeT is unnecessary. If you're SAT diving, you've got COMEX tables for that... The thing about changing batteries every day is this - you've got a scrubber rated for 4 hours. You've got a system where (by our tests) we can get up to 14 hours of firing the solenoid at a consumption rate of 2 L. per minute off a 1.5v AA Alkaline battery. We intentionally De-Rate that to 4 hours, since it's (by our prices off of e-bay) a $0.12 Battery. Why would ANYONE want to dive a life support system and push the 12 cent battery "as far as they can"? Doesn't make sense to me... ![]() And if you are concerned about retention of any RNT/RHeT, then you can use the "Go To Sleep" command in either the Primary or Secondary and save your tissue data while you change batteries. If I may pat ourselves on the back for a second: The Hammerhead is really quite an amazing little piece of technology, which is why (I believe) it does so well in the field in so many systems. You have a Controller/Decompression Computer with all these options, user definable settings, clear, easy to read menus, lots of innovations which are being introduced all the time - and the whole shebang runs on a 1.5v cheap-o battery. Back-Patting-Mode-Off... ![]() Anyway, if you have specific questions about how our system works, please don't hesitate to drop me a line, or call us. I actually still manage to answer the phone, which is getting increasingly harder, I admit, but I like to stay in touch with divers. All the best, Kevin. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: New Hammerhead Sets - Announcement O.k..... Hokay, folks! How about, for a limited time, $1,595 - about the price of the VR-3 with OC/CC and Trimix - but this one, fitted to your Head, connected to 3 cells. Sound good? Kevin. We have had a bang-up month here with the "COPIS/Hammer" conversions - but the month is coming to a close. I wanted to let everyone know what I've told the last 3 guys to order: The "Free Deco" offer in the "COPIS/Hammer" will end on July 31, 2007. Meaning, your set needs to be here, in the shop, by that date - not "I read about it then, but had 3 dive trips to go on first. Can I still get the discount??" ![]() This is $495 off the price for that after the 31st - so it's a good deal. This does not apply to the "HammerMeg" upgrades we do. Definitions: "HammerMeg" : We completely install a Hammerhead eCCR Control System on your existing Meg, or a Meg Head you purchase directly from ISC as a spare. "COPIS/Hammer" : We install our Secondary Display on your existing COPIS Head or a COPIS Head you purchase directly from ISC as a spare. ISC is doing a fantastic job of shipping components to us (thanks guys!), and as usual, their quality is outstanding. Another Note: I'll mention this in another thread, but we are going on Vacation August 11th through the end of the month. I have got to get out of here before I explode, and my wife has ordered me to be in the Passenger Seat of our car the morning of the 11th for our yearly Family Vacation to the Outer Banks, where the only thing I will do is not think about Dive Gear. ![]() My wife has vowed to kill me, on the spot, leaving my two sons fatherless, if I say the words "Rebreather", "Mixed Gas" "Controller", "Deco", or "why are you being such a bitch?" in a sentence during this trip, so please don't try to get me to by calling, begging, pleading my staff, etc. (this means you too, Charlie!). ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() The best to you all, this Summer Season!
