NEW!! Golem BOV - Vario

Golem Gear is proud to introduce our latest product:
Golem BOV - Vario

The Golem BOV - Vario can be configured with P-port to fit Draeger Panorama Nova R full face mask or with a standard mouthpiece/bitepiece.
Switch between P-port and bitepiece takes about 1-2 minutes.
The 2nd stage regulator can be removed and blanked to create compact hi-performing DSV.

It is available in three models - Inspiration thread (Inspiration, Evolution), Trapezoid thread (Kiss, Optima, Ouroboros, Prism),
Golem Gear, Inc. - Rebreather BOV - Vario - Threaded
and Clamped (Meg).
Golem Gear, Inc. - Rebreather BOV - Vario - Clamped

The Draeger Panorama FFM can be complemented with the top notch Buddy Phone UW communications system form OTS.
Golem Gear, Inc. - Buddy Phone for FFM

We have also added number of spare parts and adapters - to adapt Inspiration threaded BOV to a Kiss, Optima,Ouroboros, Prism, or any other rebreather.

I hope you like it

Re: NEW!! Golem BOV - Vario

Yes,
Our other BOV has only the bite piece and cannot be used with the FFM.
The Vario model can be switched for use with FFM or with standard bitepiece.

Re: NEW!! Golem BOV - Vario

Presumably the Draegar FFM cannot be adjusted to take corrective lenses like a normal mask can - or can it?

How does the new BOV compare in size and weight with your previous units?

Re: NEW!! Golem BOV - Vario

I wear contacts in my Draeger mask. You could probably wear glasses with thin wire sides, as it has a superb seal. Also, since there is a bite-piece to breath through, you can actually remove one of the p-port blanks UW without any water getting in.

The size and weight of the new BOV is exactly the same as the original one.
We are developing more compact 2nd stage, without compromising the performance at depth.

Re: NEW!! Golem BOV - Vario

Jakub,

Is there any way of converting your old BOV (I have one) so it can be used with the ffm (i.e an you attach a P port to it)??

Cheers,

Pete

When do you think the new 2nd stage will be available?

Can you give me an idea of how compact it will be? I've been looking at the Rebreather Lab's BOV so I'd be curious to know about the next generation Golem BOV.

Thanks,
Paul

Unfortunately there is no way to convert the old to new as we had to change configuration of few external items. The inner parts are all the same so we plan to offer the some sort of conversion path as soon as we catch up with the production.

We are working on it right now. It will take some time to polish and test.

It will definitely be more compact, we just need to make sure that it will still have top performance at depth. It would suck to overbreath your OC reg when bailing out from hypercapnia event at 400'
