Deco software being used!

First of all, wishing you all the best!

Now back to diving. I have a SW Predator and wanted to know which deco pc software others with same computer were using.

I know it can run both GF and VPM-B or a combination.

So when using GF, what are others using to cut their tables? MV Plan (limited to 100m ) Others?

When using VPM-B, V-Planner (R.H)? I believe that although both based on E.B., VPM-B (R.H) and VPM-B on SW different? So which to use to cut tables?

I have tried planning a dive using the Predator on VPM-B and compared it to the VPM-B by Ross, but differences exist. Understandably all criteria was set to the same.

So all Im simply asking is with wanting to cut tables, dependant on algorithm being used on the Shearwaters, what deco software to use.

In an ideal world I would like my deco software and computer algorithm to match, which would result in a dive being planned on the computer and one planned on the pc to be identical.

Am I asking for too much or am I missing something.

Thank you

And a happy New Year!

I use GAP software for GF dive planning.

Re: Deco software being used!

I guess I dont follow, you plan your dive, your follow your plan.

Other than that, its a matter of what software you use,and what model that software uses (and if you trust the modeling).

Possibly not clear in my post.

you plan your dive and dive the plan, agreed but which plan matches the software on the SW when using it with VPM-B?

When using GF as mentioned in earlier post, GAP software!

Thanks, trying to download the 14 day free trial.

From your experience using it, does it match the SW when using SW in GF mode?

The planning software on the SW? You mean the dive planner. Yes I guess one could use it to cut tables but it is kind of limited.

So ideally one uses a desk top software that allows more customisation.

Thanks for your post.

Re: Deco software being used!

For practical purposes the v-planner algorithm and the SW VPM-B are the same. There may be some slight tweaks that may make ever so slight differences but in the real world no one's diving skill is precise enough to make the difference matter. What I am saying is if your diving precision with regard to depth and time are to the third decimal place then it might matter otherwise don't worry about it.

If you trust the modeling software, I dont care that my SW and PC created modeling may differ. When I create a plan, I follow it, and just use my SW for time, depth, and monitoring PPO.

To expect them to be the same is unlikely given variances in the software modeling.

I never plan any dive. I only plan the oc bailout

Dive planning consists of

I have had enough today

Or

I have reached the safe limit of my bailout

QED I use deco planner to plan oc bailout
