Upcoming Trip: Florida S.C.R.U.B. Dive 01/27/2007

Looks like the winds are going to pick up again this coming weekend. So, let's get out on Saturday afternoon before the seas kick up too much.

Last weekend, we had three S.C.R.U.B. members on the dive. Let's fill the boat!

Anybody have any suggestions on a particular dive or operator?

Is there any boats you guys have been looking at or interested in from West Palm to Miami that we could try out for you and we (well Howard) could give you a detailed report on. We are planning to try differn't operators that we don't normally dive, to help build the database.

We're doing a 3 tank dive with Divers City out of Tavernier on Saturday. We're supposed to dive the Dwane, Bibb and then a reef, 08:30 show. If you're interested give em a call at 1-800-649-4654.

We're also doing a double dip on the Grove on Sunday with Blue Water Divers.

Mornings are for sleeping. Sunday is probably going to be okay with the seas. However, Saturday seems like a safer bet. We are shooting for Saturday afternoon.

    SATURDAY
EAST WINDS 10 TO 15 KNOTS. SEAS 2 TO 4 FEET.
INTRACOASTAL WATERS A MODERATE CHOP. ISOLATED LIGHT SHOWERS.

    SATURDAY NIGHT
SOUTHEAST WINDS 15 TO 20 KNOTS. SEAS 3 TO 5 FEET.
INTRACOASTAL WATERS A MODERATE CHOP. CHANCE OF SHOWERS.

    SUNDAY
SOUTHWEST WINDS 15 TO 20 KNOTS. SEAS 2 TO 3 FEET NEAR
SHORE AND UP TO 3 TO 5 FEET WELL OFFSHORE. INTRACOASTAL WATERS A
MODERATE CHOP. CHANCE OF SHOWERS THROUGH THE DAY.

We are going aboard the Avid Diver with Captain Oliver in Pompano. Excellent six pack boat with a great ladder, and the tank racks work well with my Optima. Departure Saturday afternoon at about 1:00 P.M.

I believe that we are three or four at present. So, there is still room for two more divers.

Wish I could join you, but I'm on call this weekend. What sites are you doing?

First dive somewhere between 100 and 120, probably a wreck. Then, a drift dive somewhere between 60 and 80. Since it is a six pack, we can just decide whatever the group wants to do.

If we can fill a boat with just CCR, we can elect to do one long dive. That's where we are going with this thing once we get a few more members.
