Just scary, can say I know something about this! A month ago I was toping off a helair mix, when mix got to 178bar, I heard a small leak and then at a sudden, BANG, the digital gauge from the decanting whip sheard from it's thread and can say I got white as ice and nearky pissed in my pants!
An other scary thing, a local oxygen supplier fills my 3L oxygen cylinder in under 10 sec !!! When they hand it over he told me "take care not to burn your hands as it's very hot" :o
Sh1t that is scary!
So that is obviously NOT the way to deal with a stuck closed valve - what is the right way?!! (give it to someone else)
I do have to say that in the same situation I would 'maybe' have tried the same solution this guy tried as it would 'appear' to make sense.
Obviously he got proved wrong and I'll remember not to make the same mistake & find another way to safely dispose of the cylinder.
hello mate it would be the last thing i would have tryed....can you just Imagen the pressure on them threads and the friction it would cause trying to undo it? the heating would be massive and i believe they are taper threads so at some point it will just let go with out warning......give it back to the gas supplier or throw it off a cliff
or if you have the room like we have at the ranch put it in the fire pit........and run away...far away!
it is fire works night after all!
