    Re: Need your feed back

    Hi stephen,

Welcome on Board, Its good to have ' Sorb specialist ' around.:) My only question is why molecular produces Diving grade sorb only in rod form and not spherical? Is there any signifcant differences between the two interm of absorbing performance? I do know one thing is that the rod type breath so much better than the spherical sorb, which I have used before like Dragersorb in the past.
When I switch it to sofnolime, I love it ever since due to it ecellent WOB performance.

    Thanks in advance

    Hi,

Molecular Products is close to me, is it possible to buy just a few kegs and collect them?

(Admittedly thats a rather tedious question compared to some of the technical ones but I've had trouble getting the answer before)

    Folks,

Im sure we all welcome a rep from a scrubber manufacturers.... although obviously a scrubber would be better.

Lets try not to drown the poor fella in stuff thats obvious, the Mol prods website is worth a read..... if you want a baseline for absorbency.. and the label is easily peeled off the canister.

    Hi Stephen,

    Re: Need your feed back

Well, less a product question than a supply question but here goes. Is there anything, from a manufacturer's point of view, you can do to make it easier to travel with our RBs? Kegs are great for local diving but what about the potential of soft packages of sorb that can be packed in a suitcase easily?

Or even the ability to identify the local supplier of sorb in locations around the world? Then travelling RB divers could reserve some sorb at the local location, pick up from the supplier, and be on their way rather than constantly trying to figure out the logistics on their own.

After all, the more we dive the more we buy sorb. :D

Thanks for coming on the boards. On the internet it can be hard to find the wheat in the chaff, and so it's nice to have a viewpoint from the manufacturer.

I have a question for you to be thinking about:

I dive a Classic KISS. I don't know how much you know about the KISS, but the scrubber is packed by pouring the Sofnolime into scrubber can. I then whack the side of the can while pressing down on the top "spider" to settle the lime out and to prevent channelling.

My question is: Is it possible to compress the lime too much in this way?

    Janos
Hi Janos, Standard advice on filling the scrubber is to fill one third tap the side to settle the material, fill a further on third tap the side to settle and repeat for the final third. This method should settle the product sufficiently to stop channeling and not compress the material. It is quite difficult to 'compress' the material as it of differential sizes to stop this happening.

    Hope this helps

In reply we are looking at the issues of both traveliblity and disposability of the product. I would be interested to know from other divers what the demand for soft travelable packaging would be to asses the demand for such packaging. On the Logistics we do endeavour to have as global a network as possible and can usually point you in the direction of someone who could supply to your destination depending on how remote. Global coverage is somthing we would like to imporve over the coming twelve months.
So watch this space I may have some news for you all soon.

Not to quote the obvious but it 'is' mildly corrosive and to do so would be Illegal. We can however on request supply documentation to say it is safe to travel with. Will on occasion come across some people who think they know better.

Sorry Ben, it sounds easy enough but the volume we send through factory each day and the logistics of moving all of it around make it really difficult to supply in a trade counter type of manor. Can supply you with a list of suppliers on request. Not a cop out I can assure you.
